Green with envy for that chassis, that thing is looking nice.

Most professional PRS competitors that I know so they typically run 10 power on the low end and 16 to 18 power on the higher end. Most of them will run a 5-25 or a 5-30 and said the only reason to go above 20 power is if you are trying to get an accurate zero

I’ve used a 16 power for a match. Worked great, clear field of view to visualize impacts and recoil management to re engage with bigger calibers is an absolute must. 4-16 more than adequate

When shooting distance 1 mile and beyond at my 12 inch wide 18 inch tall targets I am usually around 10-14 power. The biggest issue is mirage. Anything more than maybe 16 even on the cold mornings around freezing the mirage will make the target really dance. As for being able to see hits even with my pistol with a 7 power pistol scope I have no problems seeing the hits at 2200 yards. Anything that has a max over 20 power literally is a waste simply because the mirage renders the high magnification useless. I would rather have it so I can go as low as possible with the high between 14-20 power. NDR

Yeah marrage was an issue for me too on high mag at long range, I preferred x8 on .338 accuracy International

Just put an aimpoint on the scope rings to acquire the 🎯 and use whatever magnification that suits you most with the actual range

I’m at 24x @ 300yds. I back it off slightly to frame out the target with my holds. As the target is a 14” black circle without concentric circles, and I’m trying to hit the center.

The trick to find he target is to line up your turret with said target the. Look through the scope. The target will be in your scope picture

I always set my scopes on the lowest power, and only use the higher power to view with. Set it and forget it.

Depends on if its a First or second focal plane scope correct? If it's a FFP you can use the reticle for holdover/windage at any magnification. A SFP its only accurate at one power setting, typically the highest.

What do you think about a red dot 45° mounted to the scope for quick target acquisition? Saw it a couple times now

If you using a leupold your magnification is likely set very high , nobody under 40 owns one. I can confirm this .

What ridicules recommendation. To begin with .. What kind of match? And there is a huge difference when using First Focal Plane versus Second Focal Plane. If you swing your magnification up and down your bullet point of impact will be different using a SFP scope.
