One of the most true statements in soccer - there's no doubt that Ronaldo is the man. That being said, there's no Messi without Ronaldo and no Ronaldo without Messi - 2 players who are both geniuses and couldn't play more differently. One of the greatest injustices in soccer is the fact that Messi has more Ballon D'Ors than Ronaldo. They should have split it if necessary to have the same number.

I don't think he insulted Messi - it's true that Messi has some weaknesses that affect him more than Ronaldo. It doesn't make him less of a player or less of a genius.

He also is less strong in important matches unless there's a rival like Ronaldo or Mbappe as we saw in the Clasicos and World Cup Final. He tends to be less competitive in some important games where Ronaldo would never take the foot off the gas and score a hat trick. You can see it in their stats for their country.
