It's worse for me, when I go out and meet a non-Asian, they would say I'm Chinese. And no matter how many times I tell them I'm a proud Vietnamese, they would accuse me of being a liar/untruthful! They need to know Asia isn't just China, South Korea, and Japan.

I am born in America, but I am also half Bengali as my parents come from Bangladesh. Anyway, for a social experiment, I asked some kids at school to guess my race, they all said “Indian”. It’s so annoying fr! It’s like nobody recognize ps Bangladesh as Asian, or even a country! Some kid even said that to be Asian, you need light skin, small eyes, and a low nose bridge. Bangladesh and India are not the same thing! Nor is Pakistan!

I’m from Southeast Asia and I’m Chinese but I’m not pale skinned and neither do I wear traditional clothings and I don’t think I’ve wore proper Chinese traditional clothes before but when I was a kid like 7-8 years old I had a cheongsam but it wasn’t as heavy and everything so yeah, and if anyone is wondering why I’m not pale skinned since I’m Chinese it’s because I’m out in the sun a lot for swimming and school, my country is very very humid so it’s usually always sunny.
