When I was a little girl my mother would add food coloring to the water in a vase and place Queen Anne's Lace in the vase. The flower turns the color of the food coloring. I thought it was magic.😊❤

You are so lucky to be able to hunt such a beautiful place, minus the stinging nettles. Here in Kansas I call the one plant 'stick tight '! Because that is what it does. I so much love it when you film the flowers, plants, trees and water as well as all the surrounding area that you can film! It give me pleasure to see your home area and compare it to my home area. Lovely! I knew a fair number of those wildflowers but it's a great idea to list them as you spot them! Elders are one of my favourite shrubs and I took a number of elder cuttings earlier in the year, gifted some and I have kept two for myself that already have developed root systems and lots of leaves 😁 you can't beat intermingled, diverse wildflower species! That soap dish would go straight by one of my sinks 😂 That little ribbed insulator looked like an "admiralty pattern" used on ships and boats for communications equipment. Lots of great treasure at that tip!

8:18 The bottles say "Bitterquelle Saxlehner" and probably "Janos Hunyadi". Mr. Andreas Saxlehner lived in Budapest during the time Hungary belond to Austria-Hungary. He sold bitter tasting water from a natural fountain using the name of a 15th century general. Janos Hunyadi was a general in the Hungarian army and fought against the Turks. Quite a bit of history in/on a simple bottle. 😀

Wow! I'm really excited about the new channel you are going to start. I don't know if your home has a name or if the town you live in has a neat name, but that would be a cool thing to name the channel! Or if you have a favorite quote about a house. For example, Kate Jackson (I think that's her last name) calls her podcast The Last Homely House after a quote from one of the Lord of the Rings books, or maybe it was The Hobbit. Anyhow, it's a compelling name, so maybe you have something like that in mind. She lives just south of you in Hexham near Hadrian's Wall. It's a neat, crafty podcast if you haven't already seen it. I really enjoyed your "Tour of the Tip" today. Such lovely wildflowers. What you call Hogsweed in the US is known as Queen Anne's Lace, which is a much prettier name, I think. I'm not 100% sure if it's the same plant. It also resembles Tansey or Yarrow, which is usually yellow. I love wildflowers. My fave item today was the divided dish that Alex found. I'm glad that you are going to put it in the Window of Wonders. Thanks as always for an interesting show!

Queen Ann's lace is a common name mostly used for either Daucus carotus (wild carrot) or Anthriscus sylvestris (cow parsley.) Giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) is also known as giant cow parsley. They are all members of the Apiacea plant family. Be carefull with giant hogweed and other Heracleum species though. It is fototoxic and can cause nasty burns on sun exposed skin. .

I had turned away when you mentioned the tall white flowers were Giant Hogweed. Oops..Oh No!! I yelled “don’t walk through them”. They are very toxic here in Canada and have to be avoided at all costs. This is of course if you are allergic to them. I am glad you qualified that at the end. Lovely to see the wildflowers along with your great finds.
