I think the Hype around Chemaev is that they realised he could fill the void Khabib left. He's very unique and has that something about him. Truth be told, we all know all fighters don't have that no matter how good they are. Once in a while a Jem comes along and people instantly know "this guy is a problem" The all time ultimate fighter will be the guy that has it ALL. An example of this was the iconic of ironies, when people thought Conor's foot work with his calculated precise sniper shots from the left hand you can't see, would be the style to stop Khabib because of the presumption Khabib was likely to run into Conors left hand. But the opposite happened, Khabib displayed boxing skills and with good footwork. He demonstrated that he could equally stand and trade punches with Conor and finished him at the time of his choice. Khabib also said in a recent interview that he was disappointed in Conor's performance because he expected more. Anyway in short Khamzat Chemaev- Borz (wolf) who people instantly branded as Khabib 2.0 could be the very best thing anyone has seen in a while and UFC KNOW it.

He actually reminds me in a lot of ways of peak BJ Penn, in terms of pure natural talent and the pure love of fighting he exhibits. BJ Penn is the only other fighters whose limbs seem to move by themselves. I’ll never forget when GSP tried to kick under BJ’s checking leg at the rear leg and leg just sort of moved by itself over the kick. Opposite of BJ though, Chimaev has a larger frame than most people in his weightclass. I know they’re styles are totally different and BJ didn’t have the cleanest record but at at his peak BJ could do it all and make it look so natural and easy, he could KO, submit, GNP, etc.

I heard that Khamzat got that cut on his lip from a childhood accident and that he can only breathe through one of his nostrils bc of the same accident. That can't be easy to fight or wrestle breathing through one nostril. He's a bit annoying and I'm not much of a fan of him personally but he is an awesome fighter and I'm sure he will get at least one belt.

You gotta understand a Chachnyan muslum guy who comes from a place worse than Dagestan.always been in gorilla fights . Men have been brought up to fight and to survive.besides that he doesn't drink, smoke, or do drugs, and his hobby is just working out and fight to win.he will get to the top, and the only thing will stop him is an injury which I hope that doesn't happen. Love to see him fight the five top ten, rather soon
