    This is in the key moments video bookmarks but for anyone thinking about the school here is a rundown in the comments. Great video!! 1. Majority of students are from the northeast 2. Parking after 5pm on campus is free/weekend parking is free 3. You can explore the buildings during the day 4. Few discrete dining spots 5. Lots of "uncredited" amazing services and perks 6. A lot more to UT than partying (amazing location with tons of events locally) 7. Not a big "sports pride" school. Identity of school isn't based on the sports. 8. Zip cars 9. Store a bike on campus for free 10. You can change your meal plan within the first 3 weeks of school and room within the first semester 11. No late night on campus meal location 12. School gym and rec center is usually packed with people 13. Hard to get a job on campus

    Hey Jared! Your video popped up after I watched the 360 video of the marine biology lab at UT. I'm finishing up my junior year of high school now, so I'm about to start applying to schools soon. UT is probably what I would end up choosing to enroll in if I'm accepted. Thanks for the tips!

    Hey! That's awesome! Glad my video helped! Feel free to ask any questions you have about UT as you apply to UT and learn more about the school! Thanks for this comment! Good luck with the college application process. I remember being so overwhelmed, but just taking it one step at a time helped A LOT! 😊🙌

    Hi Jared, According the UT website, UT has 42% of international students, Can you show some of that community on your next video? My son is joining the school this fall semester and he will be the first child in our family to leave home (Jordan - Middle East) and we ( the parents) would like to know how similar students are doing?

    I’m not even coming here next year (or applied) but it’s giving me good things to think about! Thank you! This is helpful (for the things that aren’t just specific to UT) i’m currently torn in my final decision process and don’t know what college to pick!! Do you have any advice on that?

  • @JaredKauffman

    @JaredKauffman

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey Melanie!! Thanks for commenting! I’m glad this video was able to help youu! If I were in your shoes, or if I could go back in time, I think the biggest thing I’d change regarding deciding on where to go to school was really weighing how much it costs. I’m a communication major, and i could’ve easily gotten the SAME degree somewhere else for MUCH cheaper. I wish I didn’t have as much debt, so that’s definitely something I should’ve weighed more on deciding on where to go. You will still have a great time if you make the most of it. So, maybe consider which college is cheaper depending on your major. Also, I would definitely look at what clubs/organizations/resources the different schools provide when deciding. Something that drew me to where I am now is they had an organization I wanted to be a part of, and, the resources for what I wanted to do like Career Center, film department, etc. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or want any other advice!

    @@JaredKauffman Thank you! That’s very good advice! Currently the most inexpensive school for me is in minnesota. Haha I live in PA right outside of philly so that’s definitely a change. I only applied because certain family members kinda forced me to. But I’d only have to pay 10k. I’m visiting april 22nd, so I guess I wouldn’t have many days to think about it after it. I’ve gotten a lot in scholarships from all of my schools. My two favorites right now are SMU and Lehigh. I got a big leadership scholarship at SMU, not sure how much I’d still have to pay. Waiting for the new financial aid. And I just got some more money from Lehigh after negotiating with my financial aid officer and sending an appeal! So I’m definitely comparison shopping lol. I’ll try to keep this in mind! I’m also studying journalism/communications! Thanks so much again for your help!

    @@melaniesky That's SO GOOD that you got a ton of scholarships! That is the way to go! Great job! I used to live in PA near Lancaster area. I also have a friend that goes to Lehigh! Good luck with everything! I really enjoy the Communications major because you can literally do anything with that after college based on who I've met and what people have told me! Thanks Melanie for commenting! It was great meeting you! Let me know how everything goes, and let me know if you need any other advice on anything! I'd be happy to help! 😊

    Hey Parker! You might not get more from the school, but if you grind away at scholarships outside of the school, you may be able to get a lot off. It’ll take a lot of work, but you can do it. I wish I had been more intentional with applying to a TON of scholarships. Hope this helps!

    Hey Daniel! There’s not one specific intramural basketball team. Each semester you can sign up with a group of friends or whoever, and then you play against other teams in the league. A lot of people I know participate since they just opened the new courts!

    Hi Kavita! My SAT wasn’t the best either, and I got into UT which is a private university. I think if your son has other things to show like his involvement in high school, his GPA, he’ll be able to get into that school. I am not familiar with USF’s requirements, but I’m sure they’re online somewhere! Thanks for commenting!

    Mean people are everywhere unfortunately. But, you gotta look in the right places to find the people that will care about you. I’ve been a part of a community at UT that welcomed me in and invested in me. I even met my fiancée through this campus org. I’ve stuck with them since freshman year! If you’re at UT, feel free to check out Cru! We have events all this week for the first week of school, and our kickoff meeting is Thursday 9/1 at 8pm! Totally up to you, but I’ve been able to find some genuine people through this org.
