It looks like some Nigerians are obsessed with skin color. Skin color is due the amount of Melanin (chemical skin pigmentation) one has in her/his body. If one has more Melanin, one becomes dark. If one has less Melanin, one becomes fair, light colored. The first human beings developed this chemical called Melanin because of the Sun. This enabled the early human beings to survive. When some of the early humans left Africa for Asia and Europe, after thousands of years, their descendants started becoming fair or light colored. They started losing the Melanin because they didn't need it in a cold climate. Science tells us that White people appeared about 28,000 years ago in the Caucasus and moved to present Western Europe about 6,000 years ago. So White people are from Africans. White people are Africans who became white many years ago. Nigerians and skin color: I was surprised to read that in Nollywood, they have a category for "Fair colored movie actors". Nigeria has more fair colored people than Ghana; and Nigeria has more dark people than Ghana. Logically, Ghana has less dark people than Nigeria. There are fewer dark people in Ghana than Nigeria. All this doesn't matter. Africans should be proud of our Melanin, which saved our ancestors, and that is why we are alive today.

Nigerians are Africans who always look at colour of skin of fellow Africans. Ghanaians are black he says. But he’s more black than a lot of Ghanaians. Where comes this mind set at all? . Tinubu the president of Nigeria is more black than Ghanaians. Even within the Igbo’s where we see more fair coloured ones mostly the women…most Igbo men are more black than Ghanaians. But one thing we Ghanaians love our chocolate colour. We are real Africans. When it comes to English Ghanaians have one of the best English accent in addition, we stick to our local language. “Twi” As a matter of fact we want to speak more of our local language than English. 😀
