According to the pet store, it’s almost always a “fancy” morph.
My exgirlfriend got a pet store 'normal' ball python and the time she showed to be I realized she is a black pastel, and the funny thing is I bred her to my ghi mojave hypo boy and she proven to be a black pastel het hypo😂

Could you do a video showing adult ball pythons? Would love to see how morphs change over time!

Would love a video on this! So many BP’s look very different as adults. Given that is how they will look most of their life it would be great to understand which morphs change the most and what they look like as adults.
I appreciate your use of the terminology incomplete dominant rather than co-dominant
So glad you made this video! There are so many people who just need the basics for learning morphs. Thanks for a great video Justin!
Thank you for posting this! I want to attach this to every post from new ball python owners on my ball python groups.

Love would love to join. I am a benninger.
Dropping more knowledge! Another great video.
Insert those annoying people that bought a pastel or enchi and say, " I think it looks different than a regular pastel and has an extra gene in it, what do you guys think it is?"
Thanks Justin I really appreciate the schooling you provide helps out a lot
Extremely helpful thank you!
Great info!
Helpful for the pet side good job Justin
That was helpful. As an animal trainer I know behavior and body language, how to work with them in ways not related to breeding so this was helpful.
I personally think you should avoid buying a snake from big chains and taking any advise from the people working there. Best to go with a reputable Breeder. They know exactly how to take care of the animal and will always want to have a good reputation for having healthy well taken care of animals.

its rare that i got into a big chain pet store since my town has a very good reptile and fish store and we have become friends with the owner, but every now and then when i do go into our petco i take a look into the snakes to see what they have espically since i found a calico amongst the normals, i have also talked with the petco manager and they buy their balls from a local breeder instead of importing
Thank you
Thank you for this! I've been trying to learn more about morph genetics and I want to know everything in terms of what genetics affect color vs which affect pattern.
I work at a pet store that you listed in this and I’ve got 3 ball pythons from them one being a lesser, another a bumblebee and the other a pastel all doing fine and healthy
I would love to see an episode on updated visual ques to hidden genes that might be present in common morphs.
Stil love the old school morphs :)
I was able to pick up a Super Russo from Petco. She was an awesome find and I was quick to make the purchase.
Very informative video 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💪🏽

@@KINOVAReptiles you’re welcome
awesome😍😀
pinstripe is underappreciated change my mind lol
Can you do a video explaining the genetics behind the different genes? Explains difference between dominant, incomplete dominant, dominant, etc?
We got a snake a while back from Petsmart stuck in shed real bad. We bought it, took him home, got the shed off and discovered a gorgeous Leopard. Love the video Justin, thanks for all you do.

We have one with a similar story it was labeled right. An orange dream pastel and She turned out spectacular. One of the best examples I have seen. She looked bad when we got her though.
Ausome video, 🤙🥳
Love these learning vlogs.....could u explain what determines the price of a BP, especially ones with several morphs??......Thanks, appreciate it
Just seen a pied at pet supply plus in Zephyrhills FL asking a cold 900 lol
The snake that got me into this hobby was a piebald at petsmart. It was actually reasonably close to market value back in 2015 at about $400.00. It wasnt sexed but was a great example. It eventually dropped to around $250 but I still passed on it. Had no idea of the value then.
I bought a normal from a lady that had gotten it from a pet store but it is very dark compared to others I’ve seen once she started growing.I haven’t breed her to see what she has hidden inside.Shes just now up to size for breeding next season I may have to pair her to see what surprises I get.
I always can tell pastel from the head, it's got that white fade going on
ive picked up a ball at petco and for everything i can figure out it is a calico/sugar with possibly some other morphs, it has definitly been the most un-normal ball i have ever seen at a petco and i got it for the price of a normal
I got a normal from a pet store near me but she has different patterns then a normal ive seen so not sure wat she is
Banana clown are my favourite ball python wish I could get one
At petsmart they call the normals normals but they call like I've seen maybe pastel something but they call them fancy ball pythons usually no names but honestly I've never had a problem with store bought snakes have bought 2 in the past and did well! But on the other hand is rather buy from somebody reputable and that has been doin this for a while like breeding/ or just keeping snakes for a long time.
I’m not entirely sure what morph it is but I think it is the spider morph
My best petland find was pastel butter yb ghost. P/u for $150 about 3 yes ago.
I just bought a banana pie bald and I think a super pastel, I'm not 100% sure on the second. Both were from petco
I have a normal colour with mojave patterns is there any chance he is a morph or just a symmetrical normal
I found a sweet 4 foot ball python on Craigslist that needed rehomed. I'm pretty sure he's a "normal" pattern. I like all of the morphs, but I sure do love my sweet boy

Normals are great!
I got a pastel but mine looks different
I’m more interested in how you edited to get the overlay of the morphs behind you so it didn’t cut your hands off
I got a ghost from petsmart 😁 took me a year of studying genetics to figure it out 😍
Out of pet shops I have a champagne enchi pastel , black pastel albino, pied, and a banana pewter
My ball python looks like a normal except he is extremely black with a black head, he also has gold spots going down his dorsel
I got a Granite from petsmart and it was sold as a normal
I bought mine as a fancy ball python at petco for 120$ it’s definitely pied but the colors are so different I have no idea what he is.
What more are in a fancy ball python
I recently picked up a snake from a big chain pet store. he was beign sold as a single Gene Banana. I've had a few different breeders look at him and most common guess is Banana SueprBlast pos Sugar/Calico. Someone let go of a nice boy!
I just learned I have a pastel lesser. The picture could be her twin. Lol
Dumb question, I have a candy albino ball, is that just a combo of candy and albino?

Yes :)
Now you can just message everyone asking for Morph ID the link to this video!
Mine is a normal

I thought albino takes away all the blacks? I never knew it was the reds.

Albinism is the lack of melanin, but the brown is also removed which contains high amounts of red pigment. That’s most likely what he meant.
If anyone is interested in buying a snake, I implore you to go to a reptile convention.
I bought a "fancy" ball python from PetsMart once. He was labeled as a Pastel Enchi, but he looks different compared to other Pastel Enchis that I've seen. He definitely has Pastel and Enchi, I just don't know what other gene he could have.

@AyumuHasegawa

@@sastampink3243 I actually did post a picture of him on there not long after I first got him, and they weren't much help at all. It would be easier if I knew what the pairing was for him, but I don't sadly. I had someone on the Morphmarket community page tell me that he could be a Super Pastel Enchi, but I'm still not sure.
You forgot enchi
Im completely shocked i have to make this correction because you are such an experienced breeder, but albinism removes black and brown pigment, not red.

Mine's just a normal..🥹
