@@youtubescholar The M56 was the last gen M that that @infadelakinf is probably referring to. I owned a 2011 M56S. I had to let it go in 2018 at around 90k miles when the engine failed. I loved that car. It was the ultimate sleeper. Nobody knew that they even existed and much less the fact it could run sub 5 second 0-60 and a low 13 second quarter mile stock. Having owned one, my opinion is that everyone slept on that car considering the performance gap between it and the M45. I think the most recognizable M45 was the early 2000's model. It was easily distinguishable from the rest of the Infiniti line up.

My '07 M45S was the best car I have owned in 30 yrs, great A/C seats and even had intelligent cruise. Only bad I recall was the brakes, had to play around with rotor and pad combos to find one that would not warp rotors but still gave great stopping power. Helluva golf sedan with lux back seats and huge trunk.
I was tempted to sell mine a few years ago when someone side swiped it while it was parked. So glad I got the repairs done and held on to it and kept it in good shape
The M45 was gorgeous! I always sought out weird and obscure cars because I HATE driving a car that is a common sight on the road. I bought a Q45t years ago not knowing much about Infiniti. Unfortunately the car had a lot of issues so I spent a lot of time on forums trying to fix them. I learned a lot about Infiniti during that time and that's how I became aware of the M45. M45s are extremely rare here in the Detroit area but the Q45 and M45 will always hold a special place in my heart.
I was a little uneasy and I'm sure about buying it my 2003 M45 is the greatest car I've owned so far
I had a fully loaded 2012 m56x, when on cruise control the car practically drove itself. It had actual cooled seats not just ventilated which is very rare. I could go on and on about that car. I ended up trading it in for a 2017 Q60rs when they had just came out in late 2016.

Much as I hate to say it, I think the Q60 was a downgrade. I used to be an Infiniti tech and I recently got a 06 M35 base model. Wishing I had the M45S. If I had to choose between a fully loaded M56 or a Q60RS, I’d have to choose the 56. More tech than the Q and I like having rear seats for just in case. Fairly positive it also has a heated steering wheel and collapsible rear sunshade. Was also never a fan of the usually laggy screen the Q60 has. Tho if you want power potential VR30 all day.
The Infiniti J, Q, I and M were 4 of my favorite cars that have ever been produced. special mention goes to their corporate cousin the Nissan Maxima. All of these cars unfortunately are sadly no longer in production. Rest in peace

I just thought of a funny story. I purchased my 2005 G35 new. My friend at work had a 2004 G35 with the sport package. This was before the "S" designation came out. The early sport packages had the brembos. For 2005 the sport package came with asymmetrical 19" rims. I searched SoCal for a manual. Only about 3% of the G35s being produced were manual. The manuals were being sold at a premium. I find my car. Test drive an automatic because they did not allow test drives on the manuals. I go to a parking lot and peel the wrapping off of my car which had never even been test driven. I get home and it was several days before I realized that I did not have Brembos! I thought there was a mistake. Then after some research on the internet I found that they had dropped the brembos due to too many complaints about the fast brake pad wear. In 2009 I got rid of the car for about $18k. This was a few thousand less than the wholesale price on the automatics because the dealers did not want to deal with manuals because nobody was buying. Let's not forget that I paid about $3k more than an automatic when purchasing it for the manual option. Five years later, around 2015 I happen to be in an Infiniti dealer looking around and considering an FX for my wife when I see a sign in which the dealer is actively looking for a 2003-2006 G35 manual and is willing to pay $25k!
