    I've bled orange and blue since the days of the Orange Crush, so I've seen a lot of players come and go, but I still have all the confidence in the world in Russ. I think it was brilliant, however, to nab Stidham as QB2. Arrow is definitely pointing up with this kid. I don't think it was really Russ that needed fixing as much as it was our OL and offensive system that needed a major overhaul. I honestly feel that Russ will be making a lot of people eat crow this coming year. Just my humble opinion. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, and would have no problem with sitting Russ, and letting Stidham take the reins.

    There needs to be a minor league where after the Super Bowl CFL XFL USFL and practice squad players all combine to make teams in a minor league and play real games. The development matters more for these players and they could potentially end up playing year round yes BUT it’s this or they never play in the NFL again at all. Picking up Stidham isn’t likely purely due to talent. It’s also because he has intimate knowledge of the offense and coaching staff stemming back to New England. It would almost be more foolish for Coach Payton to pass, especially considering it’s the division rival playbook and tendencies.

  • @DeCurtaRican

    One thing should be very encouraging. Look at Russ’s face and body. I’m not just talking about the slim-down but the fire in his eyes and how eager he looks. He has his swagger back. He’s dialed in. He’s happier than a pig in mud playing for a known harda$$. Broncos fans are about to have fun this year. Russ will rise to the challenges. He appears to love Payton’s style, and I believe he’s quite enjoying this because it takes him back to his rookie year. It gives him something to fight for, but he knows Payton has his back in terms of putting a great O-Line in front of him. That’s where Pete Carroll screwed up. He didn’t have Russ’s back in terms of prioritizing a real O-Line. People need to remember something: Payton was the coach Russ WANTED! He wanted Payton hired in Seattle. On 2020, while Payton was still the Saints’ coach, Russ named the Saints as one of four teams to which he would accept a trade. Russ looks happy right now because he knows he doesn’t have a moron for a coach. He knows he can trust Payton to protect him, that Payton is an innovative offensive mind, that Payton doesn’t make dumb mistakes at the ends of games, and that there’s no room for interpretation when Payton says something. All of that was missing in Seattle in recent years, and it was missing last season in Denver too. Mike Florio is a certified Russ-hater! He has never had anything good to say about Russ. I didn’t see Jared Stidham at the Nuggets game with Sean Payton. The job is Russ’s, and he won’t lose it.

    Simms is being unfair again to Brady about his 2013 season being a career lull. BB traded away Wes Walker and Brady was throwing to 2 rookies! And he still made it to the AFCCG against the best statistical offense by Peyton's Broncos. I actually thought that was a heroic season for Brady along with his 2006 season throwing to a bunch of just guys.

    Great job at making it seem like Jarrett Stidham has a chance. Broncos fans know that Russell Wilson is the clear starter and he is only playing if Wilson gets hurt. Wilson didn’t look completely ruined in the last two games of the season after Hackett got fired. Why is this dude acting like those games didn’t happen? It’s the most recent sample that you have seen from Russell Wilson, yet you’re completely ignoring it, because you want him to fail.

    That was a stupid move. At the very least, he’s a real heir apparent to Russ in 4-5 years, and we’ve seen how Russ’s backups perform after being his understudy for a few years. Geno is doing quite well. Stidham has great potential. He’s not as talented as Russ, but as Simms said, Russ is going to have to start doing his proper reads, progressions and check downs. He’s must show command at the LoS. We all know he’s smart and can make the throws, and there isn’t a better improviser/playmaker in the game. One thing should be very encouraging. Look at Russ’s face and body. I’m not just talking about the slim-down but the fire in his eyes. He has his swagger back. He’s dialed in. He’s happier than a pig in mud playing for a known harda$$. There’s no such thing as objectivity and professionalism anymore.

  • @DeCurtaRican

    @DeCurtaRican

    Жыл бұрын

    The NFL is paying these dudes to promote Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Lawrence, and Jackson. Russ is a threat to all of that. He’s the only QB north of 30 who can hang with or beat those dudes, and they really want him to take his money and disappear. Roger Goodell is following the lead of former NBA Commissioner David Steen and the late PT Barnum: he rigs sports! He’s a robber baron. Those guys believed that packages and matchups make the brand better. Because Russ’s peers from 2011 to 2015 all flamed out, there’s no need for Russ because he can’t have any real rivalries. The guys who were ahead of him chronologically were favored when Russ was outplaying them, tbh. Russ was told that he had to wait his turn to be the face of the league while Brady, Rodgers, Manning, Brees, and Rothlisberger were in the league and thriving. Then, by the time it was Russ’s turn, Manning, Rothlisberger and Brees were declining, and Russ’s peers were flaming out or failing to meet expectations. Cam Newton Robert Griffin III Ryan Tannehill Kirk Cousins Andy Dalton Andrew Luck Jameis Winston Marcus Mariota Geno Smith Derek Carr At one point, Levi’s was promoting Russ-Cam as the next Brady-Manning. The league wants those matchups and stories because they sell. If Luck and RGIII had still been around and thriving, and Cam Newton hadn’t suddenly flamed out, Russ would have more value to the league because his peers would still be here and the league would have great rivalries from that group. But they flamed out. So the NFL kept over Russ to promote Mahomes. Russ saw this and was very angry about it, and I can’t say I blame him. The league and its talking heads began touting the KC offense, the explosiveness, the creativity, etc., and using that to promote the false notion that Mahomes was better than Russ when he wasn’t. This made Russ anxious, especially when Russ did as much to win the 2018 MVP as Mahomes did when you control for the difference in pass attempts. Adding insult to injury, Russ’s coach was inexplicably blowing the ends of very winnable games and costing the Seahawks deep playoff runs, almost as if he was doing it purposely. He depressed Russ’s pass attempts, refused to upgrade the O-Line, spent all of his time and attention on defense, and refused to update the offense. He never once sniffed at a top WR weapon for Russ…a true #1, even when the Texans gave away DHop for a pack of chewing gum. And Russ was being hit…a lot! PFF estimated that Russ was responsible for 20% of the sacks he took. That put 80% on the O-Line. Russ understandably became impatient, watching guys win MVPs because his own coach was purposely tinkering with the offense to keep his numbers down. Contrary to the false narrative promoted by the talking heads, the Seahawks were w better team when the offense was 75% about Russ, which was why, in 2020, the Seahawks won the NFCw title. I’m the previous three seasons, Russ had led the team to an additional win each year, broken numerous records, and been the presumptive #2 MVP choice in each of those years. But the NFL community fid t care, because it needed peer rivalries. Luck had been repeatedly injured and finally retired despite putting up a monster 2018 season. Russ was alone! The NFL didn’t like it, so it bypassed him to promote Dak Prescott, Deshaun Watson, Patrick Nahomes, Baker Mayfield, Mitch Trubisky, Josh Allen, and other QBs who would come along. The NFL doesn’t want Russ on top because there’s no story except for the story of him destroying QBs from three generations all by his lonesome. That’s not a good story. The better story is Mahomes becoming the next Brady whole QBs like Allen, Burrow, Watson, Goff, Mayfield, Lawrence, and Prescott do battle with him n alternate years, much like Jordan vs. Magic, Jordan vs. Isiah, Jordan vs. Barkley, Jordan vs. Malone, Jordan vs. Drexler, Jordan vs. GP, and Jordan vs. Ewing. Those are STORIES! They’re red meat. They sell the league. If you want me to say it, I’ll say it: THE NFL IS RIGGED AF, and unfortunately, it is rigged against Russ. Maybe he and Payton can become the compelling combo that can win Super Bowls and make Roger Goodell happy about it, but that will require putting Mahomes on pause and suppressing the other talents, who are now squarely in their primes. If I didn’t know better, I would think Denver’s 2022 season was no accident, and that some people from very high places had a hand in it. Notice how Hackett had a job within a couple of months of being fired for performing one of the worst coaching jobs in league history. Yeah…it’s rigged. By how much, I don’t know.

    It was NOT THE O LINE. LMFAO! We saw it his whole career in Seattle, RUSS HOLDS ON TO THE BALL LONGER THAN ANY NFL QB!!! Because he’s too short to see people WIDE OPEN IN THE SLOT. Since he used to be fast he could escape and make backyard football plays out of luck. NOW he is OLD AND SLOW! He completely lost his rain drop deep ball, he is totally IMMOBILE, and everyone is trying to blame the O line and Hackett?!!!!! ANY OTHER QB WOULD HAVE DONE BETTER. And since the broncos lost a lot of one score games, if there was another QB hell even Drew lock under center the broncos woulda won most of their games they lost by only one score considering broncos receivers were WIDE OPEN ALL THE DAMN TIME. And Russ MISSED TERRIBLY. NO ACCURACY and NO VISION IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD and he HELD THE BALL. It was NOT not NOT not the O LINE LMFAO! Wilson BENCHED by end of week 5, and stidham will make the broncos SHINE.
