In all of my years of playing, I've never seen Pete open the mailbox and put mail in for someone! That's such a small but amazing detail! It's just the little things that make this game incredible.

I wish the personalities in New Horizons would be as funny and interesting as in the original and Wild World

The Gamecube Animal Crossing is my favorite in the series and I still play it after 17 years.

Right?? I just saw a clip of that festival with the buffet tables and was like "hol up, I don't recognize this one!" Even after all these years there's _still_ elements of the game that I haven't fully explored left to uncover, haha

This makes me sad for some reason..

Thank you Jeff, for some people like me, thanks to your KZread channel, we can discover a game we never played. Personally I never had a GameCube because i was born too late, and I like so much all Animal Crossing's games. Every time I watch your videos about Animal Crossing Game Cube, I always discover new things. Your videos make me want to play to this game, I feel like this one better than any others Animal Crossing games of the serie. I'm thinking about having this game. I discovered your channel while an interview from an online blog, some months ago, and I don't regret to follow you here. It's always a pleasure to watch your new videos, thank you for sharing a lot about Animal Crossing, you do a great job !

Makes me glad that glowing spots and wisps ghostly body parts are gonna be making a come back in 18 days

The mini islands were so cool!!! This game had maps with the coolest geography

This game was so mysterious between myself, my sisters, and my friends. We were constantly telling each other about weird things we found out, and there never seemed to be an end to them. For some reason no game since has had the exact effectm despite adding features and being on more powerful hardware.

the game cube was definitely one of the fan favourites, including me! i loved the yoga events & the balls u would find around town. It was literally amazing. and how rude the villagers were, it left me cackling. and the tug of war, the flag, the running, so many awesome things I could list in this comment. this game is absolutely legendary and definitely stands out to the others.

The older games just generally have more charm than the newer ones. But I think new horizons will try getting closer to the older and newer games a perfect balance in the middle.

I’m in the future and...not really... imo New Horizons is a bit empty. It’s very pretty and has the best graphics but it’s hollow- the villagers don’t have any personality and they’re all too nice.

Whoa what's the crafting gimick like and do the tools break also is resseti able to be found and can you move villagers houses I just want to know beforehand

The crafting is interesting. I’m not too keen on it personally but it is very useful because you don’t have to wait for the store to sell the items you want. The tools break unfortunately (annoyed). Mr Resetti is barely in the game but I think you can hear him on occasion and yes, you can move the houses around.

@@RH-xp7ju thx man after a long time of deciding I have to say YES I will get new horizons mainly because I feel like it will be useful for something big that will happen this year I can't grasp my mind in what will happen but I feel as if it will be with someone getting sick

It’s one of the best in the series!

This is just... amazing... characters look so alive, you can do different activities with them and not just make them silly favours.

Yes!!! They seem like real people and they have real personalities! With New Horizons, I've heard the same dialogue about 5 times each from about 8 different characters in my town. Their personalities barely have any variety anymore.

@@emmadixon1131 My favorite thing about the characters in Gamecube was that even though you could tell when some of them shared the same basic archetype, the personalities were always so distinct that you couldn't swap them out. There were two "rich chic girl" characters in my village. One felt really grating, codescending and seemed like a wannabe trendsetter, but the other one that was my one of favorite characters and high maintenance in a silly way literally felt like that that sort of really close friend you have where you rag on each other because you've known each other forever. The personality difference was about as big as Regina George from Mean Girls and Tahani from The Good Place.

I still remember seeing the live action commercial on tv. And begging for a gamecube for christmas. I got it, my aunt(shes 5 years older then me) asked me if she could play it first(i bring that up because even that is something that would effect the game now) and i set up the gamecube and watched my aunt play. We decided on a town name together. And we played almost all day. Taking turns on our character. Freaking out about how awesome the concept was and how adorable the characters were. This just brings so many memories back. I love this game and have been waiting for a new animal crossing game for so long. I am so happy new horizons is out. And i don't even have a switch.

I've been playing this game for 13 years and I've actually never seen Farley. : o

He only shows up when you earn the golden axe, and even then, you only see him for a few seconds and then never again (unless you play another character).

I used to be subscribed to you since forever ago, dont know how I unsubscribed, but man, ive been wathcing your videos since I was about 12, 12 years ago. I remember, I was playing Animal crossing over summer and I wanted to see how other people designed their houses, when I found your Jeff's house video. It feels like seeing an old friend after a long time. Nice to see you're still making videos man!

I honestly woke up at 6am during the summer to do the morning aerobics. MORE THAN ONCE. I was 11 years old when this game came out and I played it faithfully.

I agree with every single thing mentioned here 🥳

There were some really cool features on here. I wish I got to play animal crossing then. But this was back in 2002 so I had no concept on what a game console was then anyway XD

This really makes me want to get a GameCube just to play Animal Crossing on it

Oh man, I wish all of that made a return in New Horizons. Not gonna happen though..

Wow, I’ve played GameCube (but not as much as the other installments tbh) but there were quite a few things here that I didn’t know about! Like the “drop all” function or destroying snowmen.

The original is so much fun and definitely worth revisiting today. So many cool and interesting things to make it unique and stand out from the others. Too bad we probably won’t see most of this stuff return 😢

The little animations and idles they added to the villagers in New Horizons give me hope that all this personality is gonna come back

I don't have my AC copy anymore for GC but I fondly remember my little town of Jingle and my baby sister pressing the reset button, making me talk to Resetti and having to catch that stringfish again aaaaahhhh But still, other fond memories were there.

I love the GameCube videos you make with animal crossing. It is like a blast in the past. :)

Those mini events like the tug of war and the foot race should be added to New Horizons, they could give Isabelle something newsworthy to talk about!

This makes my heart happy. Animal Crossing GCN was my first real video game of my own and I played it for I imagine at least 2000 hours or so. I’m definitely taking a trip down memory lane this month in preparation for New Horizons. I was excited when Wild World came out, when City Folk came out, and New Leaf came out. I don’t know if my hype is quite New Leaf levels but it’s pretty up there. I grew up playing this game and I can’t wait to play it as an adult on the Switch.

Animal crossing wild world was my first game and I still play it to this day new leaf and happy home designer too .

I hope the music is still quirky sounding like this

Animal Crossing is how I discovered Wario's Woods was a thing. Now it's my favorite NES game!

I'm playing Doubutsu no Mori e-Plus for the first time! It's been interesting to play the Gamecube version over again but while learning Japanese. There's so many different things about it but it's still the original game I know and love.

the new horizons have nothing, hopefully they include sports day, or the ball, or see carturo (the postman in Spanish) ... but they are things that I don't think they add :(

Still the best animal crossing, for now at least.

I never did play the gamecube one... tempting to go for it.

I thought it was nice that it wasnt just one character to meet you when you load up your game.

gosh, I really wish I had a chance to play this game. Even though I don't experience it directly, just watching it is just enough to feel the joy and memories of the people that had played this game. Maybe I'll find a used GameCube sometime in the future if I'm still too broke to buy New Horizons 😢

I love the GameCube versions 5PM theme

its the design features that didnt always have 100% mass appeal for me. Characters went to bed at night, characters were sometimes rude. Characters were sometimes scary (remember the first time you ran into wisp.... and like at 3am at that... he's out too early now!) - just felt way more real and mysterious. Like you'd want to stay up until 3am to see what was going on in the world. And not afraid to be weird.. really really miss it hopefully Nintendo recognizes the need for this

Ugh, I don't like either one. But if I *had* to choose, I guess I'd pick Ursala over Baabara.

Nintendo will steal this video and turn it into an advertisement for Animal Crossing on GCN when GCN virtual console is relased.
