Yemaya is a Cuban Orisha from the Slaves from Kenya from the Yoruba religion...She is the goddess of the sea and a patron saint of sailors...One of the most important saints in Cuba...She is the mother of all other orishas... And the mother of all who work with water...She is the one the Cubans risking their lives in the high seas to freedom, pray to...You can tell her daughters from the girls that grow their hair to their waists...They are typically very smart and maternal...But, a no nonsense type of girls...I'm one of her daughters and I'm now 65...Always long hair, went to college and took in 17 foster kids plus my 4 and a stepson...I can also swim like a fish and love the ocean...I'm a Cuban who was brought to Miami in 1957 at age 2 months...Yemaya's greeting is "Aze zu, Yemaya....Yemaya Aze zu...Translated to "All my love to my mother, Yemaya...Yemaya all my love...Her feast day is September 7th and her number is the number 7...Her animals are peacocks and ducks...Never her fishies, those are sacred to her...Offerings of white flowers, sugar cane stocks, watermelons or coconuts are much appreciated...
