What Keeps an Apostle Up at Night? - Colossians 2:1-10 - Skip Heitzig

Episode 7 from the series Always Only Jesus with Skip Heitzig. Watch the complete series:
• Always Only Jesus
Jesus Christ is the most controversial person who has ever lived! There are as many opinions about Him as there are religions, cults, philosophies, and church denominations. Though Paul had never met the young Christians in the church of Colosse, he was deeply concerned for them since attractive, man-made philosophies were making inroads. He wanted them to know the truth, to grow in their faith, and to be careful of any human ideas that diminish the place of Jesus Christ. I have summed up Paul’s concerns with three simple directives: Believe! Behave! Beware!
This teaching is from the series Always Only Jesus with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

I'm certainly not an apostle, but what keeps me from sleeping are my neighbors who when they turn their music on, they seem to think everyone else in the neighborhood needs to hear what they are listening to.

The prophecy of Jesus, used also in the new testament it is written that Jesus will come in the name of his God and thats what Jesus said (John 20:17). .. Micah 5:2 And you, O Bethʹle·hem Ephʹra·thah, The one too little to be among the thousands of Judah, From you will come out for me the one to be ruler in Israel, Whose origin is from ancient times, from the days of long ago. 4 He [Jesus] will stand up and shepherd in the strength of Jehovah, In the superiority of the name of JEHOVAH..HIS GOD. Matthew 2:4 On gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. (..) 6 ‘And you, O Bethʹle·hem of the land of Judah, are by no means the most insignificant city among the governors of Judah, for out of you will come a governing one, who will shepherd my people Israel.’” .. Matthew 21:9 Moreover, the crowds going ahead of him and those following him kept shouting: “Save, we pray, the Son of David! Blessed is the one WHO COMES IN JEHOVAH'S NAME! Save him, we pray, in the heights above! Psalm 118:25, 26 25 Jehovah, save us, please, we beg! Jehovah, grant us victory, please! 26 Blessed is THE ONE WHO COMES IN THE NAME of Jehovah; We bless you from the house of Jehovah.

The fullness of the Godhead, refers to Jesus as the one true God, and the fullness was fulfilled through God becoming man and completing His plans He had since before the beginning of time.

15:00 While you can focus on individual letters, you also have to remember that all the congregations got all the letters that were written and can be found in the modern Bible, like the 1611KJV. If you look at the sets individually, you will see the teaching goes from 'very basic' to very advanced. These verse show that quite well: 1Th:5:1: But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. The 'letter' is the Book of Revelation: 2Th:2:1-2: Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. With the set of verses being explored in this vid it would have been I Cor:5 that is a companion passage as it covers what you should do if there is a sinner in your group that refuses to stop. Gentiles that were doing the same acts attributed to a 'good Samaritan' would have been a 'natural Christian' as helping others is a sign that you understand what the text in the whole of the Bible is saying. For those that try to get you to live like the Temple Jews were in the times of Jeremiah:25 are simply false teachers. God will deal with them, he will also deal with the Gentiles who heard their lies. If they are alive on the day He returns, they will die by His sword. Isa:65 has their punishment as well as what they will be doing after they exit New Jerusalem at the end of Re:22. If the believer rejects the false teaching they will be part of the servants in those verses, they will also be living in Jerusalem, in the new earth era that is New Jerusalem rather than the one cover in thorns and such like it is today. Jews cannot become 'good Samaritans' even if they wanted to. Their desire to 'help' only includes their own group. Joh:12:42-43: Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. M't:5:43-48: Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Isa:1:12-17: When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. To show you just how impossible that is consider that all Gentiles should qualify for interest free loans from the Jewish World Bank. Any objection is proof that the racism is so deep it cannot be removed. The blindness caused by God is so they will follow a false Messiah, I doubt Christians can remove it.
