The frequency with which you just drew the right tron land exactly when you needed it in round 1 was absolutely disgusting, and I'm a tron player feeling this way.

The Pauper format panel has been kicking around unbanning Prophetic Prism. If so, can’t wait to see UR Tron with good mana fixing :)

to my understanding, prophetic prism was banned because it just enables you to splash in literally every colour in your tron deck, while being a cantrip. From memory, before its banning, tron had an obnoxious play rate

My buddy had a Mono R Tron list with Staunch Throneguard (this thing was a house) and X cost burn spells like Kaervek's Torch which serve as both removal and finishers. That deck was freaking sweet

A tron tech against fliers is Wretched Gryff, it gives value on cast and survives bolt, though it dies to galv blast which is a downside. Otherwise you could search for fliers on blue, there's a man-o-war variant that's a 2/5 flier for 6 which could be ok in this deck as well.

Yeah Samael actually has been switching Boulderbranch and Gryff in and out based on the meta and I knew that was a thing. Complete brain fart in that whole end section.

​@@BoshNRoll Green Tron gets the benefit of main decking up to 4 boulder branches as well as being able to run Griff's in the side for grindy MUs.

With regards "I scryfalled for Reach creatures" - Wretched Gryff (EMN) was effectively purpose built for pauper tron!

I always think of Tron as the "I'm gonna over the top babyyyy" and seeing ephemerate decks do that to you feels wrong

I mean, Tron Teachings does that to anyone historically. But lack of prism and wildfire as a tool in jeskai decks has flipped the script, even for a stock version.

Breath Weapon seems much better than repeal against familiars to me, curious if you considered it in that matchup. Archaeomancer & the fliers have 2 toughness, but it still sucks against the blue 1/3's (although so does repeal).

Both Munitions and Glitters were downshifted for EDH draft environments where normal rarity -> gameplay heuristics are totally thrown out the window. Kind of a frustrating double edged sword situation for us Pauper players, but if not for Masters, Horizons, and EDH sets, the rate of playable card acquisition would go from slow to glacial and I know more casual players like to brew with all the downshifts these sets bring aside from the heavy hitters like the aforementioned, Cryptic Serpent, etc.

Always block the goblins against kuldotha. Its possible they have goblin grenade, and reducing the likelihood youll die to grenade is good. Unless youre planning on bouncing the goblins.

Would it not be good to drop the red and play murmuring mystic to deal with the flier situation and still be able to play gut shots in the side?

In round 2 I wonder if countering the snaps would’ve actually been worth it at times. While it definitely seems really shitty, the snaps were generating so much mana that then your soft counters couldn’t hit the more important spells, while also preventing you from pushing any damage/annihilation. Definitely not sure if that line of reasoning makes sense though

most played creature according to mtggoldfish: gorilla shaman (which destroys artifacts such as exsynth and exsynth decks lands). Most common spell that's not RoP is Lorien Revealed, a card so strong that I've heard talk a few times of restricting it in vintage, the game's most powerful format. When will exsynth and lorien revealed be banned?

Isn't breath weapon a great tool for the second round? Maybe i'm missing something but being able to nuke their board once they get their engine going seems a good thing to at least consider while sideboarding.

Are there any pirates that see play in pauper? Because Fiery Cannonade is basically the same card but you get to call it Pirateclasm, which is one of my favorite magic wordplays

All That Glitters is strong but it's significantly less of an issue for the other top decks in the meta - glitters decks have a lower WR and conversion to top 8 than the dimir decks or gardens, and those decks do quite well against it, so I don't think a ban is warranted (especially with MH3 coming up). Also, Tron is quite weak, and this version of the deck doesn't seem to have any of the good tools to deal with it.

I suggest you to check Kalikaiz latest meta report video. All that glitters has been present in >25% of the 5-0 decks in the last weeks. It was hilarious to see Kali talking about the “glitter” and non-“glitter” versions of the decks and that’s what is all about. It’s clearly warping the format and needs to go. We need Pauper to be more brew friendly and less “top deck a card” I win, gg. Last game in this video and the way it ended tells it all. Disgusting.

Over half the metagame is just inspectors, faeries, goblins, and glint hawks. Keeping Breath Weapon in the sideboard, especially in a deck that can brainstorm it away seems like a big mistake.

Man, I love you Bosh, but this deck premise makes my skin crawl. Mono blue tron is bad enough, but Izzet? BLECH I hope you appreciate me watching this crime against Magic for you, I'm doing it for you. And commenting for you too May Yargle have mercy on my soul

It is annoying that a card like glitters can be included in a deck like boros synth. I get it for azorius affinity, that’s a hyperfocused deck that plays nothing but artifacts, or bogles with cards like ethereal armor/ancestral mask. It’s really just the control/value deck having a random +10/+10 aura they can put on their flyers

Yeah remember how Atog got banned? Glitters is way more powerful but it gets to just kick around in every deck that runs white, at this point. I think Glitters is absolutely one of the problem cards in the pauper meta rn.
