    They literally are tearing her down while she’s being respectful of the other patients by not FULLY telling their stories and giving their names. You would think that people would be supportive of Trisha after she’s gone to a MENTAL HOSPITAL, but they’re literally nitpicking everything she has said. I’m so happy that public opinion has changed on her because all of these people leaving these hate comments are extremely ignorant and cruel.

  • @celedhion

    @celedhion

    The biggest complaint people had seem to be her telling people’s stories? But that’s literally part of her experience? She’s retelling things that were told to her, and she’s telling them anonymously. She’s not saying names or giving detailed backstories. She’s recounting the experience of her time there and part of that is the people you interact with. This comment section is stupidly judgmental.

I went in hoping to get help and it was like jail and I felt like I was being kept there for money so yeah people who don't understand making fun of her should spend a week in a facility and see how they are after they get released a week later!

As you said, it takes massive courage, it is something to be proud of and no matter voluntarily or non voluntary, NOT shameful or "disgusting" to talk about. Great comment and kudos for the strength you had to take control of your life and put in the work to change it! :) :)

THAT HAPPENS IN ANY COUNTRY THO I had a shitty experince with them They fuck everything in ur life and make ur family get distant and look at u at a current way to the point where the love in the family goes away ........thats how most psychologists are stupid and ruin things in ur life Just like that guy who died bec he kept calling his doctor for help and she wont answer and committed suicide after .....-_- Just one sentence They only care about money And they're only humans ofc they get tired of this job and they cant understand whats inside of ur brain or ur body unless ur direct about it or u have to figure it out by urself and u tell em and they give u some medications and thats all At the end u can go through it without these medications With praying to god And believing in urself This is only if ur going through losing urself and having a fall out in ur life or ur lover left u or depression Or any of these normal reasons . That is not mental issues People mistake it to be so which is stupid and brainwashed af

    @@meralEdwtDawlatly depression and anxiety are not the only mental issues that exist. There are several illnesses that require medication for the person to get to a point where they can function and start the journey to recovery. Schizophrenia and psychosis, bipolar disorder, OCD... not to mention a ton of others. Yes you can argue that self awareness and self refection are crucial to healing no matter the illness but come on praying is not gonna get you far if you have a chemical imbalance. Be real.

    It's the same in Canada. My brothers ex was turned away from the hospital even though my mother had brought her there for attempted and they told her she wasnt "serious enough" and my mother begged for them to admit her, even my brother ex asked them to help her and the second time she showed up the next day they said all they could do was put her in a hold. They placed her in a room with a mirror, she smashed the mirror and slit her throat. Only after that did they admit her and get her help. So, so, so screwed up.

    tbh being in a "mental hospital" for 48 hours is not a mental hospital... like you wouldn't know what would be helpful for a mental institution being there for 48 when others have been there for months. Also anyone who has actually been through the system would know we don't call it a "mental hospital". You were admitted into a hospital for 48 hours and released. idk i just get so bothered when I literally took a whole two weeks and went to an inpatient unit and then spent 4 months in an outpatient unit after but you were there for 48 hours and act like you've seen it all

I don’t need to write long paragraphs talking about how i donated money to people because i’m proud of it and keep it in my heart. I’m content that God knows. And yes Trisha leads a really unhealthy life but she DOES have friends and family and you can encourage people to have healthier lives without demeaning them. in the end, it’s her money and her choice what she does with it

    13:43 Personally, I don't think one must tell EVERYTHING to everybody. Sometimes, it's good to keep a little mystery. Besides, providing such personal information to anyone or everyone, may cause the wrong people or guy to use it against you. Especially, if you're one to insistently put yourself in a "victim" mentality. Being an open book, may at times backfire.

    Her story is so accurate, and she was in a nicer hospital. It’s purpose is to hold people to observe them and keep them safe while they calm down. There are other units that they will transfer people to who need longer term care. Her real work, like everyone else’s, happens with her therapist and doctor on an outpatient basis. Also, I went to school to be a counselor. I hate to burst your dreamworld bubble, but therapists talk about their past clients and even their current clients. That is how we learn. As long as you don’t use anyone’s real name it is fine. What Trish said was nothing. And here’s another sad truth about these places. They kill people. Read about patients dying from blood clots while in restraints, “aggressive” patients being overdosed with powerful sedatives, and patients being neglected by the staff. Any quick Google search will do. It’s so common that anyone with a heart should be furious. The mental health system is absolutely broken and inefficient. If people don’t talk about it, it stays a secret and nothing changes. Having depression and anxiety made me want to help others. Witnessing what goes on in mental hospitals broke my heart. I could no longer pursue that career in its traditional sense. I’d rather be an advocate than a worker bound by this broken system. What I would ask (but this is KZread so I might as well tell this to my cat)- Have a heart and walk a mile in another person’s shoes before passing such judgement.

    Thank you! As long as you don't mention a patient's name, it's ok to say what Trish says ( I've only watched 12 minutes so far, but I've read comments) I've been to the psych hospital many times. I've been in the long term psych hospitals. It's just a story as long as you don't give out identifying details, like their name. So yes, some of these comments are laughable. I've also majored in social work and psychology in college, if that makes any difference. So I'm familiar with mental health laws.
