What It Takes To Be A Benihana Chef

Benihana is famous for their chefs' teppanyaki tricks- bouncing eggs, tossing shrimp, and transforming onion slices into a flaming volcano. We visited their flagship location to learn what it takes to be a Benihana chef. We learned how to make signature dishes like Benihana's chicken fried rice as well as how to execute some of their coolest tricks. Benihana is celebrating their 56th anniversary this year

Chef was particularly impressed with my catch as I'm 6'4" and had to give it some elevation... The speed they work at is phenomenal...

I've been to a Benihana for the first time last month .One thing that I noticed the most is how they keep the customers entertain while cooking (cause you know, all eyes are on you) ,they sing random songs and also do a little dance. Imagine doing the same thing with the next set of customers. If that was me ,I would be exhausted the whole day. They do it back to back with another chef with a different audience , so if the other chef is louder and more entertaining than yours, all viewers will draw the attention to him which for me feels kinda sad for the chef infront of you . If your a regular there then you don't even bother watching ,they just wait for their food to be done and eat. I have huge respect for these type of chefs. Thumbs up for them 💕👍

Nice video! These are my favorite cooking videos, because I see what to do, and what mistakes are possible! Other cooking videos don’t show this and that is what makes this video helpful in so many ways! I get to see how to make the recipe, in a way that’s helpful to people who know how to cook, and I get to see what mistakes are possible, which you don’t get to see us cooking videos. I don’t need help with the recipe, I can figure that out, but I do need to know what mistakes I can make, and that’s what makes these types of videos so helpful, and also so entertaining. All honesty, this kind of video is beneficial to real cooks looking for entertaining education. Teaches feel over technique which is helps for someone who understands the basic preparation of food but needs help with the execution. She asks, “what am I doing wrong,” which is the correct question for a learning cook! That’s what I want to know!
