What it’s REALLY Like Sailing Across the Pacific Ocean⛵️🌊 (Part 2)

Welcome aboard! Join us for our second week at sea. ⛵️ In this video, we show you the good, the bad, and the mundane moments of life underway- what it’s REALLY like to sail across the Pacific Ocean- from Panama to French Polynesia. We navigate through storms, cross the equator, tend to our provisions, whale watch, and make some repairs.

I like the rubber shock absorber on the preventer. I hate hearing it bang from time to time and that will solve it. Best part is I have a few extras on board and will do that shortly. Safe travels. It would also be great if you could give us the miles traveled each day report. We are crossing next year and it would be great to see reality before we take that adventure

Hey, Chad! Yes the snubber works great, we’ve been using it like that for years. So exciting to hear about your future crossing! We have been doing daily real time blog posts and Instagram updates that might shed some light on the reality of the passage for you. Ray’s Instagram updates usually include miles traveled. :)

I've never tried dried beans. I live in Fl and moisture is a problem, i use regular white rice in my salt, and other seasonings that turn sticky.it works well. Wondering if you have used rice and the beans work better? Another great video! Thx for sharing the fon! Bummer about the parts failure. Prayers your way!

Thank you for the well wishes! I have tried rice, but the holes in my spice bottle shakers are a bit too large and we got tired of finding raw grains of rice in our food, so beans it is! So far, so good 🫘

Hi, I just came across yr channel. Need to see more of Ash in front of camera. It was wonderful Ray washing boat, Ray checking proactively for repairs, Ray repairing engines, ray repairing outside, Ray repairing inside, Ray repairing the covers, Ray washing theRay washing windows….. Ray seemed to be doing everything except cooking. Time to get Ray behind the camera more as i get the feeling you are far more hands on than you present yourself. Looking forward to following yr trip across the pacific

Holly. Orca attacks in the eastern Pacific are almost unheard of. However, a Drama in Real Life story in Reader's Digest is of a Sailboat sunk by orcas off Mexico 1971. A family, parents and 2 or 3 kids, were attacked. Their monohull was made of ferrocement. But fiberglass isn't much better in that situation. Don't be too concerned about orcas until you get to southern Spain. Nice pilot whale and spinner dolphin footage.

So... how close to real time are you? Nahoa's latest vid was sailing past Columbia. I'm going to hazard a guess that they are behind by 8 weeks or so. Show them and their sweeties when you get to Marquesas. I remember being in awe of their first landfall and hike there. First I'd seen because Delos wasn't making many vids when they were first there. Thanks for the vids.

For the whales I suggest the fireworks called M80 , it will not hurt them but the bang should quite effectively scare them off. We use them in the Gulf Coast for practically the same reasons. Fair-winds Shellbacks !!! Woo hoo!!⛵️🎊

We’ve always used “Rice” to absorb moisture in everything, but I’m sure it’s from using it in salt to keep it from turning into mush. I’ve never heard of using beans, you’ll have to let us know if it works or grows beans……😂
