Visited CDMX in July of 2019. Stayed for 5 days and honestly didn’t want to leave. I’m from NYC and CDMX was like a breathe of fresh air. Couldn’t believe how much cheaper and easier things were there. The food and culture is just bursted at me. I still haven’t been back but I didn’t realize how much big the country is so I most likely will go to another city but I’ll never forget how I felt for those 5days.

Went to southern Mexico, the first time leaving g the country in my life, this January. I was only able to spend 2 days there, but it was the most important 2 days of my life. I’d learned Spanish to a relatively advanced level before going, but being there took me to a whole new level in terms of how naturally and colloquially I spoke. I met a girl there who was a Chilanga, on vacation from CDMX, and spent my 2 days there with her, exploring the island with her. The best time of my life, changed the way I think about slog of things.

My wife and I visited Mexico City once July 2022. We are from a hot climate so The cool weather was great! Our food experience was good but had we stayed longer maybe would have been better. The cultural activities abound. We visited Xochimilco and it was packed with tourists & we met fun people and had a blast! We stayed in a nice hotel in the Zócalo which included a free walking tour & there happened to be a massive concert that evening. We definitely will return to visit! 👍

Interesting Dan, I might want to visit with a friend and stay at a hostel.
Ive been three times and once with my partner. Many good comments I think. It is truly a special place. i haven't really ventured into poorer neighborhoods ...yet. My Spanish is very limited, and I find people quite supportive of a small effort to use Spanish. Its interesting how individual people can be seen sweeping and cleaning, as I have observed elsewhere in Mexico. At the same time its clear to me,... that Mexico generally is behind many west countries in the area of garbage and recycling management. As for pollution if people mean cars,...yes huge problem, yet ...so many people biking and using public transport. I am from Canada and we live indoors for large periods,...so being in mexico anywhere is extremely delightful

Hey Dani, thanks for you video, keep up with them. I have to say that people here in Mexico are very welcome to Europeans and North Americans, but as a south American immigrant here I suffered a lot of racism and indifference. Mexicans are hard work people who fight a lot to survive and have a good life, but in my experience they are kind of passive and to pride to discuss social problems, they tend to avoid the talk, but of course this is not a rule, just my point of view experiencing living here for 4 years. Mexico city it's beautiful and have a lot of things to do and see, but the cons is the cost of rent (not so expensive to people that make money in dollars haha) and the very dry and polluted air.
