We came back to MO after 15 years and live north of Springfield and Canton is a staple anytime we go. And we must get their cashew chicken. It is the best around!!

I live in Springfield. Great job telling the "fun facts" of SGF I really like the mention og "Kearney st". I used to work at the airport on Kearney st . people would ll the time ask for directions to Kearney st and they would start their question off with " I was told to take Karny st out of the Airport can't it. I only seem to find Kerny(Kearney)! I'm SO lost!!!" lol

springfield used to be 2 cities moon city {now the northside} and well the rest of it lol when the railroad was built the two were joined ,thats why we have our own little "downtown" area on the north side .in the 1950s there was a huge explosion here at a fireworks storage/store that killed quite a few people .its partly why theres no fireworks in city limits today, though nobody cares lol. im from the uk but i moved to Springfield 13 years ago and that first year was so wild for me i love it here.

Omg I could not help but laugh at the end comment about people not being able to drive here. This city has made in the top 10 or so I believe of the worst places to drive in the U.S. pretty frigging sad! But one good thing it could be worse and at least I don't have to drive myself right now here.

How about how Springfielders pronounce *CAMPBELL* street. Or, are you too young to have picked up on that? HINT: It is NOT CAMP-bell or CAM-bel. Oh, and at one time in the near past, Springfield had MORE RESTAURANTS PER CAPITAL than any other city in America. Is that still true?

How do we pronounce it then? I've only ever heard CAM-BUL, but maybe that's just me! So I've heard a few sources mention it, but one of the best came out in 2017 by the Springfield Business Journal. I'm not sure if that's still the case. I'll give you the link for the article here: sbj.net/stories/list-springfield-among-top-cities-for-foodies,55900

@@wiserlivingrealty Well my relatives, one of which lived right on Campbell, always said CAM-el, just like the animal. I always got a hoot out of that. (My home was St. Louis, but had LOTS of relatives in Springfield, especially Garton and Owen, as in Mickey Owen.)
