I'm a man and 62 years old. When I was younger , I was too busy to own a dog. I'm now much older and became disabled about 10 years ago . At this time I became reunited with my soul mate, who happened to have 3 King Charles Spaniels. My eyes and heart were opened for the first time to these loving gifts from God. I soon found myself making room for them on my small bed. They each had a precious but unique personality. I never before had been welcomed by three family members who had " Welcome home kisses" for me when I returned home from an appointment. If I go first , I will leave this life having been enriched by the love of Gods creations. If one of them goes first , they will leave this old man in tears , and hard to console . Oh , and I had it backwards . They own me.

My cavalier passed away from cancer when he was 4. He had a lot of things wrong with it him though, and was the total opposite of what a cavalier should be as shown in this video. He didn’t really like younger children petting him or people he didn’t know. He never followed us around, just played by himself. I wish he did follow us around it looks so fun in the video but he just wouldn’t. He didn’t like other dogs. He didn’t like laying in laps either. He LOVED playing with his red ball though. It is all he wanted to do. He would bark for us to throw it. He was very talkative. He also had a common issue in caviliers where he scratched his shoulder. Therefore he couldn’t have a regular harness. My mom is a vet but she didn’t realize he had cancer until it was too late. Benny was a strange and sometimes annoying dog, but I miss him and will always love him.

Peggys SSO I have 2, and they both have horrifying hereditary defects!!! The highest reputable breeders only. The BBC said they are trying to stop breeding them. Congestive heart failure in one and SM in the other. The love of our lives.

Unfortunately this breed has a horrible condition called Syringomyelia and it causes a lot of problems for them 😞

We have cavalier puppy for only 2 months, but I can confirm this already :-))

I have a question.Does his hair fall out too much so you can't clean it off carpets?I just need this as proof or something scince my mom already payed it but now she doesnt want it.I am crying while watching this video beacuse it was my dream to have cavalier.

They are not your shadow... they are a bloody extension of you!!! Our Crystal is always trying to trip me up ALWAYS!!! She goes from one to the other for belly rubs she is the best!

You missed something, my dog will follow you around forever, just barks when you've left and it *will* snuggle you! Mine is a boy and follows you round everyone and cries when you leave. He hugs you and snuggles you. Its like tetris on the couch, like you want to be in the corner so he's there like, "Right she/he is gonna sit down, better see the comfiest and best area to hug you to death." It's adorable

I agree. I had a cavalier for almost eleven years, and she followed me around all over the house when I was home. And she was always there to greet my dad when he came home. Even in her final days, she always positioned herself to say hi to him when he got back from work. I miss her desperately, but at least I have some videos of her and pictures galore.

LOVE SPONGES! 😆. I heard that before I got my little Bentley who is now 15 months. He is exactly that - a love sponge and I 💕 my sponge. Wouldn’t want it any other way. I can’t keep my hands off him, which may sound strange, but how do you resist petting and loving these bundles of cuteness and joy? ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

So true! Though it does change with age, my 10yo is actually capable of staying in the couch while I get myself a glass of water from the kitchen. She’ll come look for me if I take too long though 😂

You are so right and captured this perfectly! Our CKCS DJ is exactly the same way. Just as he gets comfortable we dare to get up and he shoots up and follows exactly wherever we go. We posted a video of him so happy to spend a day's adventure with us at work. He even joined our morning teleconference where he was the hit of the meeting and made such a normally mundane meeting seem to much more fun. Thanks for sharing your hairy children with us!

Often this gets better with age. My cavvie girl is happy to stay downstairs chilling out while I’m upstairs for quite a while. She will sometimes come up to check on me if it’s been ages or if she’s hungry, by “knocking” on the door! Very sweet. Once they get to know your routine, it definitely can improve.

Aww that's just too cute! I recently joined a Meetup Group with people who have Cavaliers because I'm going to be in the market for one shortly. I'm going on vacation in late July to early August, but then when I get back I'm going to be quite on the lookout for one. I'm a lifetime cat lover who has reached a place where I need a dog in my life. Ideally I would have one of each, but with my money and living situation, that just may have to wait awhile. I heard on a previous KZread video, when I was researching breeds to find one that would be ideal for me, that they have the same gentle temperament that golden retrievers have, but in "smaller packages," so to speak. But while I don't mind a few "peek-a-boos" when I'm in the shower, _my_ little pup is going to learn that the alpha in _this_ household is going to have some privacy during potty time. Lol

This helps me learn about what dog I should get for my 10 bday . DOUBLE DIGITS WOO !!

My Cavalier pup, Misha, follows me to the bathroom every time I go, waits for me the other side of the shower curtain, goes from room to room with me as I search for something. Even if he is fast asleep on the floor and I try to creep out of a room, his sixth sense wakes him, up he pops, and immediately trots behind me! Luckily I work from home or I don’t know what he’d do! Socially, I only meet up with people and dog-friendly cafés now!!

I quite recently got a Blenhiam Cavelier King Charles Spaniel called Lucy.She is adorable and she is basically my shadow.She is 8 months and i love her to bits.I really recommended getting them,But if you are make sure you get a good breeder,we had to drive 3 hours to get Lucy.
