What It's Like To Grow Up Mixed Race (5 Different Ethnicities)

Ойын-сауық

This is a video I've been meaning to make for a few years now. Some of you may remember back in 2019, I had a video go viral about my mixed-race background. That is my most viewed video on TikTok. I think it got over 12 or 15 million views on TikTok alone. I also started a trend called Wasian check. Wasian means white and Asian. Thousands of people used the audio. It was cool; we all had this shared identity and found each other on the internet. That aside, let's talk about how being mixed really is.

I’m Puerto Rican and knowing you have some Puerto Rican in your blood makes you a Boricua in my eyes. Much love and respect. 🇵🇷

There's no such thing as "Puerto Rican blood" 70% of Puerto Ricans are full blooded spanish, the rest is mulatto

You look like a K-Pop star, Erling Haaland and Handsome Squidward combined. It’s mind boggling.

I have always wondered how mixed people view legacy and having kids. What culture is passed on to kids of mixed people? What sense of identity?

I’m 1/4 Spanish and 3/4 Filipino but many Filipinos have Spanish blood anyway so I just say I’m Filipino. It was only my grandparents who were mestizos who spoke Spanish, my parents spoke English and Tagalog. I speak Chinese, apart from English and Tagalog since I live here in Taiwan for 15 years now. 😂😂😂

It is not what goes in that counts but what comes out that counts. I see someone that most would like to call home.
