Thank you for this video, this is an amazing teaching, so synthetic and to the point, beautifully explained within the limits of human language. The background music seems to be a Om Mani Padme Hum chanting by Hyon Gak Sunim himself, it's so beautiful, deep and powerful, is there a way to get this chanting on the Internet? Thank you again.

Persona Thank you your appreciation of this. The chanting is something you can easily doing by yourself, no special training. It was not made for background-music," but a tool for you chanting alongside a few times to make your own ability to do it on your own, without support. Watching the whole length of your breath, meanwhile look inside to see, very deep, "Who does this? Who hearing this? What controling my breath? What is this, 'inside'? What. Am. I?" soundcloud.com/mirrorofzen/om-mani-padme-hum It was made free and open and totally available by Sunim for you to use and share, right now. It is good to be chanted in one full entire breath-length. For some people breath length of Sunim's might a little longer than their capacity. For that situations, we have produced a shorter breath length version, actually two shorter breath length versions, and they will uploaded to the SoundCloud site, soon as possible. Sunim is nowadays in a 90-day intensive Zen meditation retreat in Germany, so we are not so fast with things nowadays, he not communicate so much outside. Thank you, and Good luck.

Kudus to the speaker. But if you wish to get the Buddhist argument. I think best approach is to start from Advaita Vedanta(Drik drishya Viveka, Asthavakra samhita, comentary of Shankaracharya on 10 Upanishads ). Then approach to Budhist Philosophy. Like the theory of Sorrow(dukhavad) and Anamta, Shunnyota. It takes years to understand even the argument.

I somewhat disagree with Zen, one aspect of it: "like a mirror, it cannot retain any image, it does not ask to be reflected upon, whatever it sees it reflects and whenever the object goes away it is blank" Yeah i think the mind was designed to retain information, think about the future by refernecing the past, and all of those activities, isn't it. Yes indeed, I do believe it to be the case. So just not remembering anything wouldn't be the way perhaps.

Very good. Just unaware People find this strange. Jesus was a Kunalini Yogi Master. From age 15 to about 30 he disappears from The bible. So IF you study you May see he went East and was educated by buddhist monks. For an example. The seven churches. Yes that means The 7 chakras. He was cryptic with his language to make it acceptable for his time. But if we are clever we see its only Jesus passing hindu and buddhist knowledge and truth about reality on. This was interesting. There are a few points that stood out for me, though. So, if you cannot state anything about the ultimate reality, why than state anything at all? It seems all that you are saying is just an illusion as the world around you. Moreover, if "the one" is utterly unknowable and beyond experience, how can I state something about "The One" in the first place? It seems ot me that Zen is leading to a form of irrationalism.

I call it the mind of no mind. Jesus once says unless your become like a little child you cannot enter into the kingdom of God. A little child is always in the moment. Zen is the kingdom of God.

I'm being literal. the first supernatural power you will gain will be to freeze time and teleport. If you combine the diamond sutra mind set with intense chakra meditation you can become a God if you just truly believe. someone has to or forces that view us as slaves are going to fucking eat us. if there's someone out there reading this just believe truly and you can define the matrix.and maybe just maybe save the world. peace out

Just like Kung Fu is taught to have your body react to violence without thinking, Zen is to have yourself in a state of bliss without having to think or endure any effort. You have already achieved Zen in the womb and in sleep, even better if you are able to to achieve it while awake...oops that's called day dreaming. No need to go to Tibet and study now, move along please.
