i have tried to promote my music saxophone video several times but it keeps saying active (limited). what does the limited part mean? it just stays at 0 and never starts running the promotion

I've noticed that if I change the end date after I publish it starts running after about 24 hours (after approval)

If you go to content tab and then promotions, you should see if it's active or not.

How does this work on your phone?

I fear that channels who doesn't buy promotions will not be prioritized by youtube in their suggestion algorithm.. I hope not. Also, many new and poor creators cannot afford that money. Rich creators will get an advantage.

If you pay to promote your content, KZread is not incentivized to promote it without being paid. I guarantee that your content will be less organically suggested after you pay to promote it

I ran an ad on a previous video before the promotion beta. I though the same, the algo would not pick up the video after being promoted. Wrong. The video got some views and even appears on google search. Maybe because it's a "how to" vid. Also the retention started to recover

Thank you for the video! As for myself, got around 1200 views and approx. 200 new subs from mine but the overall retention rate of the video went down by a lot (and I get why, a lot of people click out from the promo). But it did make me wonder if regardless of the new subs this might actually damage the video in the long run and how much YT pushes it. Because the retention rate on my video was around 65% but since the promotion it went down to 30% with an average of 15% (during the promotion). I doubt YT will be pushing the video from now on... Also, while I did get these 200 new subs very few of them actually "liked" the video or interacted with the channel afterwards by watching other videos.. anyone else experienced this? Cheers

I tried it to and for 25 dollars got 150 subscriber but I think I got all FAKE SUBSCRIBERS >> This is soo fake i will not use this as it will screw my channel in long run. I am putting so much handwork in making travel videos. Putting 100s of hours and this is crap

Can someone help me please. I had the promotions beta option available so I pressed on it and had a quick look (I DIDN'T SET ANYTHING UP I JUST LOOKED) then when I went back 2 minutes later the promotions option was greyed out and is saying I don't have permission. I don't have a Google ads account and never set one up but it let me select promotions the 1st time no problem then greyed out when I went back and now say that I don't have permission. What on earth is going on ? Thanks in advance 🙂👍

I tried this feature myself in my most successful video and for 20$ I managed to get 1400 Views and 200 Subs at 75k impressions. I think I've had quite a decent conversion but I wonder if this is going to help or hurt in the long run.

Honestly, I think this will destroy your channel. Those subscribers were forced to watch your video through ad. And so they don't watch your other videos. However, we have to undeestand that it is in beta. What youtube is trying to do is a business concept. A creator build his youtube channel with good videos. Build a good channel, got monetized. And he invest 50 usd, and in a month he gets back 100-200 usd. KZread is trying to push a business concept here. You invest and get profit. If it really works, this feature will be a great life changing for creators.

Watch duration is VERY low...this will hurt your channel. I got a ton of subscribers but they may not be real. Makes no sense.

It's not about subs though, it's about watch time and click through rate. Subs are the end result. If you get 63 subs for 73 dollars and those subs don't interact for shit, that's a massive waste of money

The concept of buying impression for a KZread channel to get views for videos without specific goals and limits is dangerous. I don’t believe that buying views wholesale makes any financial sense whatsoever. That being said, if a creator can craft an advertising campaign using this method with a specific purpose to gain either subscribers or affiliate clicks then these become “qualified results”.

This is insane , maybe subs are real but they are forced to subscribe or who knows maybe even robot lol , i notice that promoted video got so much views and subs are growing too, but why dont they watch other videos too after subscribing ? Its common sense, if they are real subscribers they would also check other videos since they like your content thats why they subscribe after watching your promoted video . But NO LOL other videos doesn't have views😂

That's actually not bad click through rate...and at that point it's the fault of your title and thumbnail.

Do NOT put money into this! Most channels will get 1 subscriber per 100 to 200 natural views. Check for yourself on your favorite creators out to verify this by dividing their total views on the about page by their subscribers. Next, this video is claiming 1 sub per 10 views!? Or a rare of $1 per sub. That makes zero sense. Think about it. YT is already showing your videos to people that like your type of content. The ads are no different! If you are getting 1 sub per 150 views naturally the ads can not do any better!? There is no way for them to do better. Think about it… the ads can’t make a user click. And most people are less inclined to sub off an ad than organically finding and genuinely liking your video. This is a total scam.

@@ColeConnor yeah. But they are just trying to make us consumers. I’ll tell you what the promotion option has taught me. Every natural impression YT give us is… #1 free advertising and #2 a chance to win a new viewer. I’m terrible about thumbnails but the chance to get a viewer with each impression is a free gift. So maybe YT isn’t all bad.
