The amount of times I've seen people try to sell first edition deathly Hallows for £300+ is ridiculous 😂😂

This is true for so many collectible books out there, it's sad that sellers do not explain or even know if they are selling a first printing. It is difficult because each publisher and each book has its own first printing points, but as always, buyer beware. Thank you for posting this and sharing your knowledge with us!

I bought a full set of the 7 books. HBP and DH first editons, for 50 dollars. This video helped me understand that it's not rare at all, but still a good deal.
I was at the bookstore earlier today and picked up a copy of OOTP because I didn't have the Bloomsbury version and had all the others and it was driving me nuts. So when I saw it in the secondhand section for 9 euros I thought 'might as well'. It was wrapped in see through foil so when I opened it at home I checked the print and was pleasantly surprised to find it was a first print. Really boosted my mood.
Wonderful collection and videos. You can really see your passion for collecting. Is your first edition hardcover the same one from your video in 2016? The library copy? If that is a restoration, that looks really well done. I collect books as well, but my tastes are a bit more all over the place, though I do have a HP 1st, its just the paperback.
@ThePotterCollector

Thank you so much! No, my current copy is unrestored. The one in the 2016 video was the first 1/1 in my collection. I sold it to help pay for this new upgraded copy. A 1/1 paperback is rare too!

Hey! I've been following you for a while. and loved your video! I've been waiting for this information!! However, I have two questions: the first is if the line is from 1 to 20, is it also considered a first impression? And second, what is the difference in value between the hardcover and the brochure? That is, which one is more valuable? Thank you SO MUCH!!
Hey just wondering you may have covered this in a video already that’d be great to know.. but is there a difference in value or like rearness for where they are printed and like what’s best
I have a first edition 8th print of The Philosophers Stone. I think it’s really cool because it shows a younger Dumbledore on the spine which was later reprinted with an older Dumbledore. The First editions’ box sets became so hard to find, and it’s so frustratingI just want one of each paperback complete 7 books set (so not the original original adult ones with only the first 4 books)Sure they are never gonna be as rare as these extremely valuable books But still, why do they have to stop printing these just because they have new editionsSure to make people buy those insteadBut wouldn’t it be great if people could pick which set they like the most and buy thatAs a kid i absolutely adored the adult editions with all the items on the cover.... but can’t get it just like thatSo for a while i’m gonna have thise huge hole in my box set collection, because first ed children and first ed adult has decided to disappear from earth -.-

I'm trying to get all first printings. Currently have like a 40th of ps😂 11th of chamber of secrets 😂 24th of poa and the rest first editions. Most are immacluate condition aswell. I have a curiosity question, I have the green hardback, with gold trim and lettering, Prisoner of Azkaban first run (copy) The print page has the full Joanne Rowling name, but in the first story page, the 'burnt' word is correctly in mid sentence. Can you clarify this?
Do you read any of them start to finish when you get them? Atleast the english ones? Or do you not read them to save them from creasing the book?
How did you get those rare editions I can only dream of having 😭 can I visit you?
There's a used bookstore near my house. It has an entire shelf full of Harry Potter books. I randomly picked up a few, and got a second printing Prisoner of Azkaban. Now wondering if they have any first printings. Once corona virus is over, I am going to investigate! 🔎

Hey I wanted to ask how much my harry potter books are worth, an if they actually have a value or not? I'm a huge fan of yours.
You forgot to mention that there are technically two first printings of Goblet of Fire. A smaller number of them were printed in Scotland, which is the one you showed us in the video. I'm guessing a Goblet of Fire printed in Scotland is a bit more valuable than one printed in England.
