What is wabi-sabi(侘寂)?
How is wabi-sabi related to avant-garde fashion? Is it just an aesthetic, or could it be more?

I like the Wabi Sabi concept. Teaches us that not everything has to be new and perfect. Find it very natural. This was interesting. Thanks.

it just another bullshit... I deal with all kind of concept in life... best is to choose what you can do to your life not forcing someone else into yours... when come to beauty... it is very subjective and depend on person.. some people just prefer to share some interest with their friend. Gain new business relationship and so in....

I love this concept. It reflects the heart of acceptance and the nature of the universe. Nothing is truly perfect and nothing lasts forever. There is great peace to be gained from such understanding.

I feel sorry for Kanye West. He seems like he truly loves wabi-sabi, but he is so traped in his maximalist/hollywood cage. I think that deep down in him there is a minimalist that wants to breath fresh air and have space and to be free to create without the need to buy all that materialistic junk

I don't understand it fully just yet, but I'm really intrigued and your video has helped me with having things clear up a bit. A lot of punk rock and some other genres are recorded using very primitive techniques and that gives it a character all its own. You'll also hear this in very old recordings like from the 1930's. Some of the blues artists from that era sound kind of ghostly and eery, foreshadowing the darker music it would eventually inspire. I'd like to hear more music made with wabi sabi in mind. One might also point to the harsh wavering vocals of some older vocalists or the less expensive instruments used by some instrumentalists. Leonard Cohen's later stuff comes to mind. Jack White for sure. What I cal traditional American music or mountain music. If you're digging what I'm laying down, check this out. You'll like this. kzread.info/dash/bejne/c595ytafgLGWaJc.html

Interesting that you mentioned that Murata chose to use rustic teaware. (was this based on Japanese philosophy?) During that time, the artisans and skills were in China and we know they have the history to prove it. This interpretation you've chosen is from the view of a Japanese where they did not have the wealth to possess lavish things. Zen Buddhism originated from China too. The literature that you are reading are most likely written by white folks and they always choose the easiest way to paint the Chinese accomplishments under Japan since Japan always succumb to their terms and conditions when it comes to economics. A small country has no bargaining power. This is a great video but would be better if you referenced your sources. I do take interest in religion and design too, but what you are sharing factually is an ice breaker but not historically grounded.
