I Dont think it that way ma'am, it is definitely true ki screen time se autism nhi hota but screen jyada dekhne se dusri cheeze affect hoti hai jese bacche apni dusri senses ka use nhi krte starting ke two years to pruning ke baad sensory issues aane lagte hai, screen ki wajah se speech delay ho raha baccho, less eye contact less respond to name and other things all these things are very much similar to symptoms of autism so those parents are not poor.

Yes true. My kid was completed all physical and brain development milestones till he was 18months. Post that unknowingly we gave screen time on TV for 5-6 hrs. Especially cocomelon songs which have very much visual content. We failed to do any interaction with him. After we realised our mistake we completely stopped TV. Started OT for him. Spent time with him. Now after 6 months he is back to normal. So yes virtual Autism does exist.

TV can't cause autism but it really impact kids who are on spectrum. Just go 20-30 years back and try to recollect how many kids you saw around you on spectrum, probably not more than 1 where as now every 2 km there is therapy centre and you see at least 20 kids with some kind of issue. I personally feel packing up TV in home was my best decision, ton of changes came in. Also to add autism is not something where kid cant live normal life, when I think of my childhood it was same set of issues, late speech, hard to get socialize even now, hard to maintain eye contact during conversation. Now if these are called ASD symptoms then even I am autistic but living very normal n average life.

I don't agree. Some children recover from autism as soon as screens are taken away. What do you have to say about that?

Agreed, All are labelings. Why is it that kids exposed to Screens only during Lockdown Corona diagnosed with Autism or Autistic Symptoms. My Analysis is - Lack of Human stimulation to kid during early age 0 to 3 years triggered Autism or Autistic Symptoms. Kid are like sapling where u bend it grows there and where you give kid's focus, it absorbs that. ( Like Screens more than 6-8 hrs to infants or Toddlers). Deprived of Usage of 5 senses at a time. Not given opportunity to kid to explore world or at least house hold items. No To and Fro communication in early age. Kid doesn't even know Mamma and Pappa and Parents have handed over Mobiles. Given the condition - These things are bound to happen. I liked last sentences of yours Gratitude, Sukrana and God wanted so and Autistic kids are intelligent. Acceptance and Hardwork is choice, whoever has done that with patience and grace over a period of time excelled and have recovered the child.

I agree. In case of my own child, I failed to stimulate his senses as I was busy during his crucial months. Yes. Screen did cause him sensory issues but impaired language development is also due to lack of right stimulation.

Autism is not disease to begin with. Autism is collection of symptoms in child. It doesn't matter what's the cause. Why those symptoms occur vary from kid to kid. It could be some genetic reason or it could be less exposure of real nature and real world. Lack of exposure definitely is possible and screen time is one of most common cause for it. However it's difficult to say confidently what's cause in any given kid. In either case only solution is to spend as much time as possible with kid by interacting him, teach him different experience, teach him different senses and so on. If causes of symptoms was lack of exposure then definitely kid will improve over the period of time. Improvement in any given time would vary kid to kid. If causes were genetic improvement would be minimum but still there would be improvement and that's best thing. Don't waste time in labelling disease just work on it dedicatedly.

Please get ur facts right before getting to social media ...virtual autism doesn't mean autism develops due to screen..it means autism look like symptoms can occur with high screen...and they revert completely too. But it requires competence and experience to differentiate btn the two

Screens cause visual processing disorders in adults. Then why can't that happen to young kids? Visual disorders means less eye contact, visual stimming, poor attention, langauge delay.

When you yourself say that nobody knows how autism happens it's ridiculous that you you are blatantly claiming how it doesn't happen. Screens cause audio visual senrsory overload so, it may cause lack of name response, eye contact, poor imitation, pointing, sensory seeking. This is not autism but autism like. What would you say about a child who was alright in his early days suddenly goes into autism, with clear evidence that there is no autistic regression but processing issue and starts recovering with screen removal and stimulation? Mild autism looks entirely different from virtual autism. In mild autism there is more understanding but less expressive and verbal communication. In virtual autism there is verbal and expressive communication. But, their brain fails to process and they have little interest in brain stimulating activities. I saw children diagnosed in either categories and I can clearly see the difference.
