What is Vieques really like?.

Join us on another adventurous day in Vieques, Puerto Rico!
Today we give our final thoughts on Vieques, PR. We came here asking "is this a hidden paradise or just another overrated Caribbean island?"
We travelled here before back in 2021 for a single day and didnt have the best time. But all the stuff I've seen online about it looked amazing! So how could this be? Maybe it was just bad day for us or maybe the internet hyped up this place for tourism.
So We, along with my sister and her kids, booked 5 days here in an AirBnb and explored as much of the island as possible. You can see the day to day vlogs here.

Amazing job! I have been here quite often I find it paradise but here is why I loved this video. First and foremost you tried again. You understood that you can't judge it by one single day. That is already something I rarely see so props to you two. Next I loved how you told your personal opinions as opposed to saying this isn't paradise, you said for me I wouldn't quite call it paradise. Love that. Everyone sees things differently. I also adored that you talked about the animals they are great. And finally I am so so so happy that you said this isn't for everyone and if you are basically looking for Miami Florida don't come. I hear that so little but it is SO true. And also I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the vibe and appreciate it for what it is. And I must say the roads aren't great but for me I can live with it in exchange for everything else it has to offer. Thanks so much for helping give people a realistic expectation of Vieques and I am so happy you enjoyed it. This video was filmed very well and you really captured tbe beauty well. I would love to see you come again. :) I am shocked at how underrated this channel/video is. Definitely liking and subscribing. Have a great day.

Wow! Thank you so much for the feedback. We try to be as honest as possible without being mean or rude about it. As for being underrated.. lol.. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is still a new concept to me and with every video I get a little more confident and skilled with editing. Also thanks for the subscribe and feel free to give me feedback whenever. I love it, good or bad.

@@simplifiedtravels Of course! I especially love the snorkelling and cave scenes. Did you get a chance to read a Vieques Insider while you were there?

extremely helpful! thank you for making this video. its hard to find content which isn't 20 somethings trying to look cute and not giving any facts about what it took to get to those videos.

Really enjoyed the guys opinion. I’ve traveled to two Mexico & DR and I can say I’m not a fan of resorts. They’re nice do not get me wrong!! But I wanna feel like I’m really in a different place if that makes sense

Vieques doesn't get a lot of tourists to begin with and we were there during off season so the beaches were pretty much all ours. Thansk for watching!

If you did not snorkel or SCUBA dive in the former U.S.NAVY bombing range, you lost your chance to see the most exquisite marine fauna that there is. I am refering to the thousands of live bombs ( 250 and 500 pounds green with front and rear yellow stripes ) that were armed but did not explode on impact, that litter the ocean floor for about 150 feet depth. All this happened for about 65 years of the bombing range operation with the blessings of the PARTIDO POPULAR and THE PARTIDO ESTADISTA.

    Any undetonated bombs explode?

No. I'm pretty sure the area has been swept thoroughly. Its mostly used for various storages now.

Actually there are many undetinated bombs in the area. Most areas have warning signs to keep away. It is one of the Superfund military clean up sites that I read still has 10 years to completion. The "Black Sand" you stated was volcanic is actually from the repeated bombing of that area. I do not believe there are any volcanic activity in this area. The island is beautiful, the natural beaches, free roaming horses and other animals add to the uniquness of the island. Infrastructure is non existant, water is piped in from the mainland, the only hospital was destroyed during the 2017 hurricane and never rebuilt. Locals have to ride the ferry to the mainland for medical treatment.
