Maximum the Hormone (Japanese: マキシマム ザ ホルモン, Hepburn: Makishimamu za Horumon) is a Japanese heavy metal/hardcore punk band from Hachiōji, Tokyo. Their lineup has consisted of vocalist Daisuke-han, drummer Nao, guitarist Maximum the Ryo-kun, and bassist Ue-chang since 1999. Each member alternates singing lead vocals, often within the same song, with the exception of Ue-chang, who provides backup vocals almost exclusively.
The group is best known for their unconventional and experimental style of alternative metal music. Over their career, they have found success incorporating elements of heavy metal, hardcore punk, hip hop, pop, funk, and ska into their sound. Stylistically, their music runs the gamut from being dark and serious, to ironic or humorous, often with drastic shifts in tempo and mood over the course of a song. The band's eclectic nature frequently draws comparisons to System of a Down.

Here’s the link for their most recognized song, but there’s plenty more of great great songs. “ Heartless Scat” the name of the song by Ningen Isu kzread.info/dash/bejne/dZZ9mZueZczAe9Y.htmlsi=uSI4UiyvrervifRU

The ultimate musical troll band. Best punk-metal band there is. Always weird, always brutal. This is the band that inspired Hanabie, and Nao, the drummer, is an idol of sorts for Tamu from Nemphila and Akane from BandMaid

Yes! Troll me until I'm green! I haven't seen the ties to the other bands summarized quite so succinctly before. There's a fun video of Tamu trolling them back by "auditioning" for their franchise band. There is also an interview with Akane on video who says she got the idea women could play drums with aggressive style because she saw Nao doing it. Supposedly Hanabie got started as a MTH cover band (although I'm only repeating what I've read in the comments here).

MAXIMUM THE HORMONE continues to blow people's minds. Winny was a file sharing program in Japan like Napster and no one uses it anymore, and that's the joke. At the beginning of the vid they are like an underground band. As the video progresses their music get more and more processed. At the end they are a corporate band out of touch complaining about a file sharing program no one uses anymore. And that's the joke. Here's a translation of what they are saying at the end of the video someone put down from when this was on r/Music vocalist: "WE WILL NEVER FORGIVE WINNY. ANYTHING BUT WINNY." drummer: "Dai-chan, no one uses Winny anymore. Plus there are plenty of other things that people should stop doing, so stop yelling so much. And the kids already all left." vocalist: "No longer will I stand for uploado, anything but uploado..." drummer: "OK, I get it, but there's only one kid left, and it looks like she's going to start crying." vocalist: turns to kid "Yo, you agree with me, don't you?" drummer: "Uh no, that kid has no idea what you're talking about." Kid runs off vocalist: to kid offstage "You hate Winny too, don't you? Don't you?!" drummer: "Yo, no one uses Winny anymore!" vocalist: "But...uploado..." drummer: "You sound like your mom." vocalist: "What?!" "It's one thing to make fun of my but now you're going after my mom ....(trails off)

Maximum The Hormone are simply brilliant. Their songs are full of changes in tempo and often also changes in genre. You should definitely check out their music video for Yoshu Fukushu, a song about bullying in school. Hanabie, who was founded in middle school as an MTH cover band, has just as many tempo and genre changes in their songs. Most people start with We Love Sweets, but you can also choose an older (e.g. Envy) or newer (e.g. Otaku Lovely Densetsu) song if you want to do a reaction to Hanabie.

That is why I referred to MTH when you talked about NEMOPHILA's AMA-TE-RAS. They way the blend multiple genres and how they made it into one song with nice flows and fluent yet sometimes weird, but it works eventually. Just like AMA-TE-RAS which got the same vibes in term of mixing genres and make it sounds different yet so cool. Now you might be interested to check out 2 of MTH covers done by NEMOPHILA, Shimi and Zetsubo Billy... mind you not all bands can come up with good covers of MTH and probably you knew why (asides from 3 different singers they have) and NEMOPHILA did very well and looks effortless. 🤘🏻
