There’s a good theory floating around that the Warden is simply a defence mechanism ejected by the Skulk to protect itself, as a single massive living organism.

By understanding the disc ( one youtuber did that) the disc says about two stories, Minecraft and minecraft dungeon. The both stories get mencioned in some certain parts of the disc, but the minecraft dungeon one is normal, he kills those enderman things that give him eyes of ender and beats the boss. In minecraft we hear that the player is running from a cave after realizing theres a warden, he hears and sees phantoms, then a wither chases after him in the cave and we see that warden is like the guard of the portal, so he attacks the wither and kills it, so much energy gets released from the dead wither that the portal activates, then the warden goes back in the ground and the player steps in the portal, then the disc ends.

Skulk is a highly intelligent organism that instead of photosynthesisising it uses the souls of others to grow. The organism is very sensitive to sound and if it is too loud, the sulk will use one of the souls that it has stored to become a walking creature also known as the warden. The skulk catalyst is simply a seed/brain for the skulk organism. Hope this helps!

Yeah wardens are the equivalent of white blood cells When the skulk detects some potential threat to itself it calls a warden over there (also the wardens dig and squeeze out of the ground similarly to how white blood cells can bend and squeeze between other cells to reach where they are needed in the human body)

Alright hear me out we were all terrified about Herobrine back in Minecraft alpha and beta BUT WHAT IF THE FUCKING WARDEN WAS IN ALPHA and no don't think about how it would spawn in the deep dark im thinking of it just walking around in the over world

Now we need a battle Royale between Soul sand and skulk

maybe this is how wardens spawn, so the sculk shriekers detect sound that powers up a sculk catalyst and when it's full of power it becomes a warden

The warden drops that as a last ditch effort to save new wardens that burrow out of the skulk

I has think 2 scenarios so… Scenario 1: it’s by yourself, you have kill these warden before and since the last time you kill warden before player log in as yourself, you die, and right in time, you log in your world, your past is the person kill these warden. Scenario 2: it should be different person in your world before you create it, like create the world just like choose world to play, the number of people kill warden could be more than 10, hundreds, thousand? My guess is they used to thrive by killing mobs they used to eat their souls and spread the plauge of skulk but then the ancient builders found the plauged areas and finished them but they didnt lose they went into hiding using their dead brother soul residue to create the things that sense noises and the catalyst were placed there after the victory of the ancient builders and after the builders died the wardens lost purpose in life since the spell they used bonded them to sound the catalysts and the shriekers becoming alive after the players disrupts them and then being forced down to the ground by power power of their dead brothers

My personal theory is that the Ancient Builders built portals to the Nether and angered the Piglins, who began hunting them in the Overworld. This is why we have Ruined Portals. They also angered the Wither (as we hear in Disc 6). They were building a portal to another dimension to try and escape or search for something to defend themselves, which is the big portal in the middle of the Ancient City. But from this dimension, came the sculk and the Wardens, which defeated the Wither... and spread. It just kept spreading, consuming the cities and its inhabitants. Then, to try and protect themselves and escape, they built Strongholds and studied as much magic as they could - which is how they finally managed to build portals to the End. Over millenia in the end, appeasing the Dragon by building monuments in its honor, their form distorted and morphed by the strange environment, and the odd fruits they had to eat for sustenance gave them the power to teleport. The Ancient Builders became the creatures we now know as Endermen!

the bottom of the "portal" being supposedly heated up by the soul fire is pretty suspicious. also, due to the bones on the reinforced deepslate, you can clearly tell that this means the portal was made *After the sculk* because these are the same ones you can find on sculk catalysts, shriekers, and wardens. so my theory is going off the idea that the deep was before the portal, which is very audible from disc 5 because you can actually hear reversed xp sounds, the same one you can faintly hear from sculk shriekers after it screams. and you hear this before you hear the portal light up. so i assume they created the deep dark for redstone contraptions, because of the hidden room, but that's when it backfired, forcing the final survivor to find a way to light the portal as an escape in vain, which either lead to a soul related dimension, releasing more wardens, or they got killed before they could enter the portal.

I have a theory about the skulk block, so yeah it collects souls and spreads but there's a chance for it to create one of those skulk sensors but everyone probably knows that if you activate one of them a warden spawns so what if a shrieker and a sensor spawns from that block (with a chance) and when you activate the sensor it gives the shrieker sounds to make the warden spawn

My theory. The sculk catalyst looks a lot like the warden's foot. Could he have dropped a part of him. Or it has what looks to be bone on it. It could be a part of the warden or it could be the inside of the warden. They both collect souls/contain souls. It kinda makes sense. But hey that's just a theory A GAME THEORY.

They tried to escape through the big portal from the wither, but instead the warden came out of the portal and killed the wither. And the warden started killing the ancient builders right after.

I also wanna add that the particles coming from the sculk is the same (or similar to the) particles that comes from walking on soul sand with the soul speed enchantment

This creates a question: What was the first: a skulk or a warden?

My theory is that the ancient wither lived at the wardens dimension and traveled to the nether and tried to kill everything and capturing souls for their children and I think the nether star is the same as the sculk thing. Reason: They both use souls and also from different dimensions that colonised the overworld / nether and made it their environment to make them feel home. The warden was once the protector of the underground village, which something came called the skulk, and every time the villager died it would grow and grow until it took everything in its way. The skulk has infected the village to now it attacks everything it hears, except for other wardens

My theory is when a warden dies it will turn into a sculk But when half of the sculk area is covered The sculk is gonna dig down on its own And spawns warden to make the ancient city

since we know that the witch used to be friends with the villagers, maybe it was a prototype iron golem that went wrong and the witch made it?

Fun fact: The warden is a corrupted version of a axolotl that’s why it doesn’t attack them.

I think that the warden protects the sculk since they can’t protect themselves also I’m pretty sure the warden drops a sculk catalyst because it’s a last ditch effort to try and convert more blocks into sculk. Another interesting thing is that the warden doesn’t count towards monster hunter or monsters hunted which makes sense since he’s suppose to be avoided. Tho I feel like this could have some lore implications that the warden isn’t technically alive in the normal sense, and more like an amalgamation of sculk that is summoned and controlled by the sculk.

I think it’s more comparable to how roaches will release their eggs during death as a way to give their offspring a chance to keep going the warden is releasing a catalyst so that even if the skulk in that area is destroyed at the very least the death of wardens allows the species as a whole to keep going

Here's my theory The skulk quickly breaks down dead animals into rapidly growing skulk,the warder is salvaged from the remains to make an unstoppable guardian,and upon it's death it gives you a skulk catalyst as a last ditch effort to keep it alive,so you can unknowingly place it in order to spread the skulk beyond the caves

I think it’s the other way round, like the skulkcatalyst turnes into a warden and when I dies, it devlols into the skulk catalyst.

Mabye the skulk catalyst needs a bunch of souls to turn into the Warden and if it dies, it becomes the skulk catalyst again.
