This is really solid advice. You are one of a few KZreadrs that say it as it is because I have looked at so many Data Engineering roles and I have not seen a single Data Engineer junior role. I'm currently learning Python and SQL. I enjoy dealing with DATA and I hope to make it in this field.

Sir I am Oracle DBA having 7 yrs of experience just joined one organization as dba only and i have completed data science course too so how can I make transition either in data science or data engineering

Sir I joined tcs digital and they gave me a data engineer role straight away. But I did not had any plans to work on that role and I did not have any understanding of the domain as well except from sql and basic python. I was more inclined towards Web development side . Will it be wise to switch back to web development ?? As data engineers are in quiet demand these days.

What is data engineering? Data Engineering is all about collecting and analysing data and making some sense out of data. So if you like to work with data then data engineering is for you. If you like to build applications the full stack development is for you.

Salaries of companies can only be found out after your interview. Because there is no standard when it comes to salaries across the software industry. One person may get one salary in one place and a totally high or low in another place for same set of skills.

There is some similarity between the salaries of Data Scientist vs Data Engineer. But yes Data Scientist with experience may even be paid more.

Sir I have 2.5 years of experience as mechanical engineer and also 2 yrs. of gap due covid. I want to enter into Tech field. I hv good academic(8.9 CGPA) but also have little stuttering/communication problem. I am not able to decide between Software Development and Data Science. Sir Plz guide me. The path to data engineer goes through becoming a good software developer. So first you become a good software developer and then a good data engineer.

@@MusingsbyAmit wrong. I am a data engineer. Data engineering doesn't need any machine learning,AI or data science. Don't spread wrong info here. Data engineer mainly work on database, getting data into a structured format. That's it. We don't work with machine learning, AI or in data science. It's Data scientist who does this works.

Hi Rishabh, At present I am not working for any particular company. I quit my job in 2017 after 23+ years in software industry. Then I have been consulting startups in software and engineers to help them make their career. KZread is part of that. At this moment I am not working anywhere except KZread. It can change if something big and bold comes up. Like some company want me to help them setup their software operations.

Data science is different and data engineering is different. U don't need to know data science to become data engineer data Engineer collect and process data so that they can present it to data scientist to derive conclusions or to form meaningfull insight from that data. Also DE is not software developer. It is not necessary to know software development for DE all wrong info given.

For freshers in generalized roles its still 3.5 if you consider the small service based companies in india who still give freshers 2.5- -3.5LPA compared to MNC's who have raised it to around 4LPA average
