I think it's underrated because if you see the images on Netflix and stuff, it looks alike a children's series. With the green fake-looking ghosts. It looks like a teen drama like Disney/ nickelodeon show. But the story is actually really good. It's thrilling and pretty complicated. The acting is good as well. Overall, a good show. But I wouldn't have watched it if it wasn't recommended to me.

The chemistry between Lucy and Lockwood was amazing, like I couldn’t believe it wasn’t a romance show. This show deserves so much more attention.

i like how they didn't let the hints of romance clog up the storytelling. it can flow naturally once things settle down more and the teens get a grip on things. i.e. SEASON TWO PLS

Yes! I am so sick of the generic romance genre but this kind of slow burn (and book fans know how slow it actually burns) is very appealing and makes you emotionally more invested and you start paying attention to little details that hint toward romantic gestures (like the colour of Lockwood's socks at the Fittes Ball). I love that this show is more about friendship, trust and found family and I truly feel like I found a home within the show and the fandom. I am now on my 21st re-watch and still can't get enough ❤⚔️

Yep. And judging from Google answers, in the books they actually never get together. In the show there were several moments when I thought they will kiss. Then, again, they're 15 in the first book. I don't want to see 15-y.o. kiss. Which is partially why I stopped watching Stranger Things.

I mean i don’t want to spoil anything, but it was really clear they were getting together in the last book, at the end of the last book it was like a fade to black but a fade to black getting together scene that wasnt written but heavily implied. I loveeee the slow slow slow burn which makes you appreciate the small little gestures like handholding and longing stares…

As a massive fan of the books I can happily say this a brilliant adaptation

The chemistry in the trio is palpable, the Lucy/Lockwood love story is beautiful, the performances are brilliant - PLEASE renew this for a second season

The concept, writing and cast was a wonderful surprise. This show had its moments but it’s very endearing. Also adults completely not taking responsibility for their actions was like seeing a world of just pure narcissists.

Me who has read and practically memorized the entire book series Lockwood and Co is based on: "I know! I know and I'm not telling."🎶 (That's a quote btw) I am pretty impressed with how they have done the series, unlike to many book to show/movies, the shows writers recognized a good series and didn't try to remake the whole story. There are a few subtle differences, and one or two scenes that were added or removed, but they stayed true to the story. A lot of the humor in the books was in the small unimportant scenes, so the series is a bit more intense, but it is still a fantastic series.

@@julialouise969 I would rather you go read the amazing books. But I will tell you this, Lockwood's room is his old parent's room(He used to sleep in the attic). But the room behind the door belonged to someone else. It contains all sorts of dark and dangerous mysteries. If you want to know more. Please read the boo or listen to it on audible. Jonathon Stroud created a masterpiece, he tells it much better then I can.

SAME! I'm trying to find how to persuade Netflix into rethinking about this gem. I know there are 2 petitions about this topic but they are only USA and UK and I'm Italian so idk if my sign could be valid. They did their advertising so bad, it is unfair! They actually changed a couple of things from the book. I'm not too disappointed though because that really happens. I love the series eithet way. I just love the book more.

I actually like some changes in the show better than the book. For example, getting rid of George’s childish bodily humor, the addition of swear words, etc.

I appreciate urban/contemporary fantasy where the supernatural & paranormal is public knowledge.

Cant believe they canceled it! Its great! Yet they carry on xo, kitty, which is slightly badder then this. Time to read the books!

Make a second season and do a bit more on the worldbuilding and rules. Some of the random time jumps or elongations in some episodes were weird. Not to mention 'all adults are evil', I know it's young adult fiction, but some of the plots turned into satire.

it is my fav netflix series now along with stranger things.

In some of the scenes Lockwood looked like Wilbur soot and it scared me

Well, there are many shows and films on the internet right now, it's normal to have not only netflix so if u don't give me at least a bit of advertising I could never find it out my self or I do but not right when the show comes out, just later. That is a problem in the world we live because those platforms now work with algorithm that destroys whatever isn't enough seen and shared in a very poor amount of time, that's why we don't get to have a II season. We, as consumers, should do something about it, for example those petitions that I've seen around but especially hurting them where they are most vulnerable: money.

Just finished it. Pretty good show... so naturally it's been cancelled.

This show was really good! Hoping for 2nd season announcement! Come on Netflix, you gave the Wynx Club a second season, I don’t know why but ya did… so how about keeping a great show for once?

Why won't anyone talk about why John Fairfax let the students die in that building, closing in the 2 girls for the rest of the night rather than helping them when Lucy went to get him the first time, then dropping all the blame on her rather than admit he's a useless drunk.

Pretty much all the adults in this series are the worst. Callous, corrupt monsters who send children to die like cannon fodder so that they can make tons of money off of them. The kids should just let the ghosts kill them all, because their world would be a lot better off. Or just put them to the blade themselves.

@@TheJewelDragon I shouldn't have to. A movie or TV series adaptation should stand on its own without the audience having to do research. Even the book answer didn't come out until that particular book did. If the show will eventually explain it, then so be it, but, at the moment, it' leaving the question open. Also, and especially with Netflix adaptations, the show can differ from the source material greatly. If someone asked me a question about the Umbrella Academy show, I wouldn't point them to the comics, because they are practically an entirely different animal.

Damn, Marissa Fittes is really trying to solve the Problem right? i wonder why the Problem even made her thought like that 🤔 I also thinking, how she found out how to seal Sources using the silver or iron? where's the knowledge came before? research? third parties? i really want to know

F Netflix!!! Another great show cancelled. They keep the drag crap but cool shows that get views get CX! WTF!!!!

The biggest problem with this show is that ghosts... for some reason... have turned every adult into a cruel coward... and every kid into a witty adult... the very premise of the show... simply isn't how human beings react under stressful circumstances... the show abandons basic human psychology.... and that is always bad writing...

I don´t agree. Not all adults in the show are bad from a more objective perspective, and the young agents make many mistakes, Lockwood is often reckless for example. But adults are often corrupt even in our world, and kids living in hard and dangerous circumstances, have to grow up fast. Those who don´t, don´t survive. That´s why the Lockwood teenagers, in some ways, seem older than they are. They didn´t have a safe and normal childhood. Often in supernatural/adventure teen dramas, teenagers are the heroes or save the day without any reasonable explanation, while adults are often ridiculously incompetent. But in Lockwood & co, it´s more nuanced and there is also an explanation for putting young people in the front lines. They are not smarter or better than adults, but they are the only ones who can do it in this universe.

But... by far... the most practical course of action would be to have an entire team of adults supporting each child... both in and out of the field... the way we support soldiers in the field today... Assuming adults just lost their nerve... Like I said... bad writing...

20 minutes were enough to understand that this is a childish soap opera. On the other hand, you've got extremely well made series like 1899 being cancelled.

That´s a matter of taste. Both series have done well from what I can tell. I think the real problem is that Netflix seems to pump out too many shows, instead of focusing on a number they can actually handle and afford. Cancelling bad series is one thing, but good series with decent ratings shouldn´t be cancelled.

Wow...seemed people really loved this show! I don't think I'll watch the next season. It never grabbed me.
