Why take emergency use only antivirals? Let your body fight it off, and take meds for symptoms and secondary infection!

Juney Shu I’m unvaccinated and caught Covid 5 days ago. I had no intention on taking anti virals either…until I was placed in the care of the specialist covid GP’s because I have asthma and emphysema, and it was explained to me that I am compromised by having those conditions. I was told that the anti virals will prevent me from ending up with breathing difficulties and ending up in hospital… So after weighing all things up, I decided to take the medication. I was relieved that I couldn’t take Paxlovid, and don’t think I would’ve had I had no other choice… I hope that by now, my own anti bodies have started doing their job, so that I end up with natural immunity.
My son is 42 his doctor prescribed it to him, he has no underlying health.

Gosh I do wonder why your son was given this medication? I only question that because I was given anti virals because I’m immunocompromised, and unvaccinated. Having asthma and emphysema put me on the list of people who need them (here in Australia) but had I not had a choice to take another drug besides Paxlovid, I wouldn’t be taking them at all. There seems to be too many contraindications with that one.
I’m on Paxlovid and I had a Herpes outbreak.
