What are music festivals going to look like in the future?
Well, I recently went to a music festival called Forwards in Bristol and it changed the way I viewed the future of festivals
How? Well, firstly, Forwards had a whole tent designed to show support to local charities and projects who are looking to change the world for the better
From refugee charities to climate change and health care, this tent was a safe space for anyone looking to be a part of a community.
Forwards Fest opened my eyes to the many projects that Bristol is a big part of
Next to the main stage was a tent giving out free drug advice and the opportunity to speak with a member of the team about any concerns involving drug usage.
This is something I haven’t seen before at a festival, I know drug use is a problem at festivals so what the The Drop were doing was really cool, give them a follow
And finally, someone was hired to do sign language on the side of the stage for literally every single act - I have seen this at concerts but not festivals, this was a first for me
It’s really nice to see Forwards Fest pushing the boundaries when it comes to creating a more inclusive and interactive festival for everyone to enjoy.
