What is the Difference Between Cologne and Perfume
There seems to be a lot of confusion about the difference between cologne and perfume. Hopefully this video will explain the basic difference between the two things as it isn't all that complicated, well it is, but the basic difference comes down to science.
You'll see in the sketches that Paul makes, that the difference comes down to how many scent molecules are added to the alchohol/water base. This is what makes one a perfume or a cologne. How much scent is added in. Perfume has more and cologne has less. It has nothing to do with a scent being masculine or feminine, but rather how concentrated the scent added in is.

What is interesting is that most men's fragrances are not colognes.(too weak) Men's scents are Eau De Toilette and fewer being Eau De Perfume. And women's are usually true perfumes or Eau De Perfume.

Absolutely agree! I hope there are more scents made in the Eau De Perfume concentration that are marketed to men.
Is cologne the same as aftershave?

No, although we often use the words interchangeably, aftershave has even less scent molecules than cologne.
So in other words, its better to buy a perfume, than to buy a perfume? Technically, a perfume smells stronger and lasts longer.

Paul Alexander Yes. It is technically stronger. So buying a perfume instead of a cologne is better in my opinion. :)
