    I was overwhelmed with the QGD theory. Thats when I started playing Carlsbad, and its such a fun and intuitive opening. Most of the time I can learn from my mistakes unlike other QGD positions where it becomes very complicated for me.

    I’m always late to the speed runs so I’m still watching the 1400 videos, but each time I watch through I reach a new peak in my chess ability.     The origin of this opening was during the 1800s when a club level player carl was too self obsessed with his chess so a master level player challenged him and decided to play a random line which he had not analysed prior and mated him with 5queens, and he decided to name the opening carl is bad variation (carlsbad variation)

    Please keep the speedruns going, they’re so entertaining ❤ Try to play 1800 to 2300 so the opponents don’t do a lot of obvious blunders and they actually mount some resistance 😂

    Nge2 works well against be6, allowing Nf4 and the often smothered bishop is trapped- capturing often forces black to recapture with the f pawn leaving his light squares weak given black has often already played h6.

    Why did you edit parts of your game out? Specifically, around the 12:20 (game time) mark, you were contemplating f5 and cut like 20 seconds out of the video. Is this just to shorten the length of the video?

    Since I managed to achieve a bunch of things in chess, OTB chess, I have a feeling that chess has become a lot easier to understand. For example since I am 2000 fide, the games against the masters I am playing against, feel more smoothly and more easy. Do you have the same feeling ? @Daniel Naroditsky

    The 2000+ rated players in this speedrun have been *awful* - hopefully you get better luck on the next one. Anyone who disagrees, just review the games and then look at the older speedruns. Stark contrast in skill level.
