Ba Ba Ba ... 333 Vietnamese Budweiser is pretty good but the green glass bottle Saigon is yummy. I became a non alcoholic and recently visited Vietnam and happy to se 0.0% Heineken made in Vietnam in many stores. I am impressed how Vietnamese people are obeying the new driving sober laws. Enjoy! As I mentioned, they recently changed the recipe for the 333, and it does taste a lot better than it used to.

If asked on the street...I would have either said 333, because it reminds me of my first trip here in January 2012 for Tet, or Saigon Chill, just so I could say Chill with a Vietnamese accent. Saigon chio? 🙂 I was shocked to see that in a three judge panel...333 was the SECOND BEST!!! 😮 It has a fond place in my memories but I have been mocked before for drinking it. I did not expect it to come away with the silver in a taste test. 🥈

Bro, did you miss out the red version of Bia Saigon [Saigon Do]. It is only available in bottle packaging. I have heard city folks say its a "poor man's beer" more commonly seen in the countryside and outer districts like Binh Chanh. I notice city folks usually choose by default the Heneiken/Tiger or just Bia Saigon. Another less popular bia in HCMC i would say its Bia Hanoi which you didn't rate?

The Saigon Red never came up in my street surveys, so I didn't include it

I was hard pressed to find anything over 5%. About third week in, I found a place that served more than tiger, Heineken or bia Saigon. I went straight for a 12% stout. The server handed me a pamphlet with explanations of different beer types (ipa, stout, tripel, etc). I said, cam on, stout please. He tried giving me the pamphlet again. I said, I’ll take the stout. He says something to my wife, she tells me, “He said you should read the descriptions, stouts are very heavy.” He holds the pamphlet out to me again. I wanted to say, “You do remember that I’m người Mỹ and went to college there, right?” 😂

I know the feeling. I made an entire video exploring the breweries in Saigon, and there were quite a few beers that were "heavier" than the local selections

Rooster Blonde or Pasteur Street God Water are the best. 333 is the rankest.

My everyday beer is 333, I think it's a "rice beer", with hops of course. On the beach I liked to order those large SaiGon green bottles (cheap @25kVND). I know local in Quang Nam who live on Huda, and the cold draft is pretty good...the Carlsberg draft or San Miquel is also good, but San Miquel gives me a headache. I once bought a suit in Hong Kong as the tailors plied me with SM while I looked at material. I've had bia hoi liked...it's very weak, but sometimes only 5k/glass. Our local quán nhau has it for 40k/L. Good with cá cơm chiên va mướp đắng lạnh,

Canned beer haven't taste the same after I tried my first bia hơi. Definitely the best out there.

Bia ngon do khẩu vị mỗi người nên không thể so sánh được. Nếu nói về độ mạnh uống mau say là bia 333 lon đầu đã sốc say rồi (uống say quá mất trí nhớ😅), kế bia Tiger uống cố nổi mần đỏ nhanh, bia Budweiser (Mỹ) uống lai rai say lúc nào không hay khi đã uống đủ đô....còn lại đều nhẹ!!!

Truc Bach beer is the best. Anyone should try it!

My favorite beverage is… water !!! 😂👍 Or coconut juice. 🤗♥️🥥 I’m 53 and I never drank alcohol. 🤢 All beers have an equivalent taste. 🤔 The proof : all of you 3 made mistakes about the beers. 🍺😂👍 I don’t understand people who need to drink alcohol to desinibit. 😕 It’s just a lack of confidence. 😊 But if it can helps, why not? Saigon Red is my favorite because it's not too light, and it doesn't make me bloated when having with lau and other beer food. I find Saigon Special is too light. Most important, I love to support local beers. I'm looking forward to visiting again in late August this year to also enjoy 333. Love your videos and CHÚC MỪNG NĂM MỚI🙏🙏 cheers Vi

My favorite beer is IPA but I've found that a lot of my Vietnamese friends they don't like IPA because they said it tastes bitter.
