Our tanking comp is pretty interesting in our raid group. We have the main tank prot paladin(me) and an off tank prot warrior and we’ve been able to clear all the current raids out there. It really comes down to how well you know your spec and class!

people say they don’t care about tank damage until the tank is in the top 3 dps consistently.

Blood dk feral tank are the best dont use the same gear and do the most dmg

I’ve been tanking on prot warr - have had no issues so far tbh

I did a full clear week one on my alt healer and had a warrior tank and it was fine. But my main is a dk tank currently 7/13 heroic and I couldn't imagine surviving some fights as a warrior. When the healers are running on fumes and I can sac my pet, death strike, empowered rune for 3 more death strikes, rune tap.

There isn't necessarily a mastery cap for mastery. What you're looking for is the CTC cap, which is like 102.4% This is a combination of Parry/Dodge/Block and an added 5% Miss Chance(I think the miss could be wrong) So if your combined total from those is 102.4 you're at the CTC cap.

Whenever you reach a combined 102.4% chance to block dodge and parry, after that more block rating achieves nothing

You can reach CTC coverage as Warrior easily right now. Prot Warr also deals a lot more on block fights lmao.

One thing you forgot - the giga chad factor :D. Only chads tank as Warrior unlike the 90% plebs with DK :P. Sad Warrior sucks tho but still anyone who does tank as Warrior is a chad in my book

I am not certain what is the point of having 4 classes than can tank if one if clearly above the others. If blizzard intention was to give player a choice in playstyle while choosing to fill the role of tanks, they should then be making an effort to balance the tank. Cataclysm is 12 years old, it's not like they are surprised by these fully expected results. And telling me that tank will be balance in dragon soul doesn't cut it. Balance the tank for the current tier, and if on future tier some class fall behind, then re-balance them.
