Having issues with cold weather with go pros and extra cold Temps shut my units down. Two different kinds. Anyone know what the deal is or of the newer versions have addressed this or is it inevitable with lithium Batts that's can freeze?

Great topic! I'm still hanging onto my Contour +2 cam because I like the side helmet mount so much better, but sick of the now marginal video quality and defunct company. Will be looking at the Go Pro 6 soon now. Also - for a real stills/video camera, how about some love for the OLY E-M1 Mk2!!! Come on, it's a great skiing cam! Paired with the 12-100 f/4 and stuffed into the Mindshift Trail pack, it can do everything. Of course, none of it would be any good my Dodge boots weren't the foundation for getting me there, just sayin'.

No one ever talks or tests these action cams with recorded temperatures. The reality is simple: below zero celsius, i have never experienced more than 10 minutes of continuous filming.

GoPro is the worst camera for winter sports, or anything in low temperature environment.
