I don't know if this is just a nostalgia thing but I absolutely loved Legacy of the Green Ninja. It truly feels like the imposing threat of Garmadon that has been lurking the entire show is finally coming out of the woodworks for his final battle. The tension is high, I loved all the character interactions leading up to it, and the final battle will always mark my childhood. It really just felt like the perfect pay off for what we had of the series at the time. I felt content with it ending there as I watched it. Obviously I'm happy it didn't but yeah.

The crystalized finale has a bright side, they literally froze Aspheera's mouth shut, to quote Kai, "If I have to hear that one more time".

That’s great and all, but due to her lack of motivation other than hurting Wu in ANY WAY, Asphera works infinitely better as a side villain. Obviously, the ending of season 11 works as it is, but I preferred the way they fought her in crystalized

My personal favorite season is Posession! I think they did an amazing job at writing Morro, and it showed exactly what Kai would’ve been if he hadn’t accepted that he wasn’t meant to be the green ninja. He’s my favorite villain apart from Garmadon. And besides, it added the concept of the 16 realms, which is really cool!

Yeah it’s almost my favorite. Although I feel like if they did a bit more with Kai and coles arc it would be a literal perfect season. Sure Kai has the most amount of screentime and lines, but his arc still feels it short. He feels like he was supposed to have an epic final battle with morro but he just doesn’t. And for Cole his ghost thing only was an issue for like an episode then he was back to being in the background. Ronin and nya were great, Jay and Zane whilst not really having their own arcs outside of the shared “brother sharpens brother arc amongst all 4 ninja”, were also great and hilarious just as Kai and Cole were as well. (For some reason basically everyone is funny af this season.) I’m sorry but Lloyd was wasted. I can not agree when people say this is a Lloyd season, he does nothing, he gets captured for 8 episodes and then sort of gets to have a final battle, but then it ends up being nya who saves the day. I wouldn’t really change anything with him tho, I mean they did the best with the amount of screentime he had. But literally everything else besides Kai and coles arc is a 10/10 for me. I think this is my second favorite season

Possession is the best. It’s short in the sense it doesn’t over stay it’s welcome with filler. tonally consistent. An intimidating villain. Shakes up the ninjas dynamic by not having Lloyd around and left changes that will last past season 5 with the likes of Cole and Nia. It’s our first proper introduction to Ronin and the story is just simply tight. It’s not perfect, but again, the season is short, so we don’t spend too much time with weaker aspects of the story. (Like cloud kingdom)

Personally my favorite season is Skybound. I know Skybound is a relatively controversial season. Some people love it and others hate it. Well I love Skybound! You wouldn’t think Jay wouldn’t work as the main character of a season since he’s usually just the comic relief but they managed to pull it off. Jay still feels like Jay even when he’s more than just a comic relief and he’s a great main character. We even learn in Skybound that the only reason he makes so many jokes is because it’s his coping mechanism (something I very much relate to). Also I know a lot of people don’t like the jail stuff but it only lasts one episode and the ninja learn stuff they need to in order to stop Nadakhan (also it’s 1000 times better than the jail stuff in crystallized). I love how they explored Jay and Nyas relationship. Skybound has some of the most heart wrenching moments of the entire series. Nadakhan is one of the best villains the show has ever had. The show has been teasing him returning for like five seasons now. I’m not sure if I want him to return or not but if they could pull it off I would be all for him returning but after the mess that was crystallized I’m not sure if they could pull it off or not😂. Anyway The last thing I want to mention about Skybound is the ending. I know a lot of people don’t like the ending but I absolutely love it. People don’t like the ending because it makes the whole season “it was just a dream” type of thing but a “it was just a dream” ending isn’t always a bad thing. Everything that happened in Skybound still happened it’s just that no one remembers it outside of Jay and Nya and that’s fine. Jay and Nya are the only one’s that need to remember it because the entire season revolved around them. They still have all the character development they got in the season (even if some of the seasons after Skybound just throws all there character development away but that’s a different conversation). Also if Jay hadn’t made his last wish Nadakhan would have won. Every time I rewatch the ending of Skybound it makes me cry a little bit. Nya saying “I guess all the greatest love stories do end in tragedy” and then dying makes me cry every time. I remember Jay’s last wish caught me so offguard the first time I watched Skybound but I loved it even when I first watched it. All of this is why Skybound is my favorite season and it always will be

Hot take : I really liked season 5 probably because Moro is my favorite villan but when I was younger the weapons intrigued me the sword of sanctuary was awesome and the deep stone blade things were also interesting and gave the ninja a good edge in fights with the ghosts kai took charge in that season aswell and he was amazing at that role every episode I was getting excited to see a Moro vs Kai rematch absolutely amazing the childhood memories this season gave me will always be with me

Personally my favourite was Master of The Mountain -Cole had so much character development throughout the season and quickly became my favourite Ninja -There was a mystery element to Lily which was very intriguing -The animation in Master of The Mountain was the best the series has ever had -Cole's arc I can personally relate to -Wu's arc was also very compelling

Don't forget how great of a villain The Skull Sorcerer is and how the Uply are great characters too. I like how the writers made fun of how they keep inventing new villains each season by making the Sorcerer seem as "Just another generic villain" And even that they did really well.

For me part 1 was good but part 2 was a downgrade

Maybe I'm blinded by nostalgia but season 2 is definetley B tier, seeing Garmadon get possessed by the Overlord was one of the darkest moments in the season and the final battle was fun too. Lloyd becoming the ultimate spinjitzu master will forever be one of the most iconic moments in the history of the entire series. The stone army were cool too

My favorite is, “Season 3,” because I love, “Zane,” as a character, and the final battle against, “The Overlord,” is just beautifully stunning and I will never forget, “Zane’s,” last words, before his death..☠️ ☠️ “ I am a, “Nindroid,” and, “ninja,” never quit..”

Personally I quite like the tournament of elements season, I loved the introductions, the drama and more. And you can’t forget pythor!

My personal favourite season of Ninjago is Sons Of Garmadon. The season is just so well written and I feel like every character had something to do especially Lloyd, Zane, and Cole. The fight scenes are also top notch as the fight with Lloyd and Garmadon has so much emotion and is extremely well choreographed. The animation had a massive boost compared to Hands Of Time and the soundtrack is really good as always. The Sons Of Garmadon themselves are very fun to watch and Harumi has one of the most tragic and interesting backstories as it made the season one finale have more consequences and casualties which was lacking during that battle. So overall, I love Sons Of Garmadon. As for my least favourite season, probably Crystalized. Pretty self explanatory.

@@ishashifar he doesn't need to be exactly like the older seasons. Kai was very good in the first half of crystallized despite not being like his older self

season 2. it's brings back nostalgia, and ends on an upbeat note, Ninjago could have just ended there, and I would have just been sad that it ended, of course I love seasons 3-7, zane's sacrifice was the first time I ever cried because of a TV show, I have nostalgia for seasons 1-7 and even kinda season 8 (I'm fine with 9 through 11, but at 12 it felt like they were just milking the series) but if it had ended at season 2, I would have been satisfied, it had a happy ending, and we got to see all of the main characters at their best, they did the final battle, and now we're done. But then we had 3-7, which were absolute joys, but then at 8-11, the redesigns didn't do much for me, and then after season 12 it felt so unnecessary.

@@M.W.2 I think for Jay's character better that Nya is staying in water goddess form. I don't like his obsession for Nya and this ruins him for me. And it's also disappoint that all his development relates to his relationship with Nya. Give him more interesting stories

Don’t sleep on Rebooted! I know people hate on the love triangle… but that took up MAYBE 5 minutes of the entire season. And it led to a cool Jay/Cole confrontation in TotE. There’s so much other good. Pythor’s return, Garmadon and Lloyd moments, Pixal’s introduction, the Golden Master prophesy. As well as the ninja gaining the ability to channel their powers from their hands… I think people forget that they couldn’t do that until Rebooted. There’s a lot of lore added. Sure, the space plot was a little silly, but the ninja kind of acknowledge that they don’t belong in space. It was a very clever way for the Overlord to get what he wanted. And don’t get me started on Zane’s sacrifice. Easily one of the best moments in Ninjago EVER. The music, line delivery, and visuals all combine to really show the development that Zane has gone through. Going against what is logical, going against the “numbers”. Gives me chills every time. Visually, the season is a step up from the ones before. The animation is more refined. The music is stunning, remixing some old tracks with more digital sounds for a new feel, while retaining that old feel. I love Rebooted!

the first half of season 2 is awful, but I adore the second half so so much. the development it gave to lloyd with those moments against garmadon were really cool to see, plus i liked seeing more information on zane. Also im definitly speaking from bias cause Zane is my favorite character but I think (aside form the stupid ass love triangle) season 3 is one of my all time favorite seasons

Just judging the show, my favorite will have to be Skybound. It's dark and brilliant. However, a big part of my perception of the seasons are the sets, and Skybound was honestly one of if not the worst season when it comes to that. Looking at both the show and the sets it's 100% Possession for me. Everything about it just works for me.

Season 4 was always my favorite, the SOG and Hunted seasons are also great

Season 5 is my favourite by far my opinion might change but Moro is a perfect villain and his end scene just magnificent.

Possession was my favorite season, favorite villain and the most consistently amazing season out there. Morro had quite a lot of depth for being a Tai Lung clone without feeling like a Tai Lung clone at all. The season has a really great overarching message of regret, something I only saw Skybound do originally with their theme of greed and lust with pirates being the main antagonists. Morro and Wu's backstory was the main exacerbation of this, showing how both of them regretted their actions, Wu with how he handled Morro and feeling responsible for his death while Morro his actions and how he acted out in his youth. Morro's death scene was perfect with this, Morro hands Wu the realm crystal and Wu stares at it while Morro disappears into the water, leaving Wu to continue regretting his actions with Morro(as he should imo) and making this season actually IMPACT Wu. DOTD followed up on this with Morro regretting his actions and trying to make amends(being the only villain to actually try and reconcile with the protags). Nya, Lloyd, and Wu all had great character dev from this season and that was great. Having Lloyd and Nya on their own as well, gave the original four some much needed screen time so everyone felt really focused on. The pacing was great throughout and the only cons for me was Lloyd never really connecting with Morro over the Green Ninja title except for the ending(maybe an inner dialogue with Lloyd fighting Morro), and Cole's ghost thing rarely being touched on(no good ghost powers) although that was kinda a multi season issue. My favorite season is skybound, even though it didnt happen, i liked the fact that the ninja kept getting tricked into being alone so nadakhan could trick them, and it was down to jay to save almost everybody by the end of the season, jay saving his last wish just for the perfect time, as nadakhan was slowed down by the tiger widows poison, as nya was dying from it as well, nobody remembered skybound except for jay and nya, im glad that their relationship was more than dates and just showing they love eachother, skybound was a good season.

Here me out rebooted is an amazing season think about it it flows perfectly imbetween the final battle and chens island plus’s we got the best sets (in my humble opinion) they introduced new characters such as pixel and Cyrus borg and come on I know for a fact that you loved the Digiverse and that first battle against the overlord in the digiverse was crazy cool and the brought back old characters like scales and pythor! The final fight in this season was a little wacky (with the golden strings) but had real stakes and the sacrifice by Zane let him become even more cool. I know that the elephant in the room is the space episodes but I think that they are pretty bad but every thing else was crazy good plus we got the ninja’a hair in the sets. The Techno blades were such a cool gimmick.

honestly my favorite character is Cole. he’s a good parent, he’s funny, he loves cake, but most importantly his character development. it’s want makes him my favorite. after that is Lloyd for the same reasons the video lol

"And next up on the tier list is master of the mountain! And this is an instant A tier!" I paused the video and subscribed when I heard that. Master of the mountain is AMAZING and I do not wanna hear any slander for it

I wonder if rewatching Ninjago leaves a bitter taste in people's mouths knowing Crystalized is a thing.

I say people are allowed to love or hate Skybound as they wish I still stay by my take that it’s my personal favorite season of the entire series. I can see why some people take issues but either most of those problems don’t bother me, or I just don’t even see them as problems

season 7 is overhated, I enjoyed it. The storyline is incredible and seeing Kai and Nya finally bond together being the main characters working together was important. I also was surprised when we come to find out Kai and Nya's parents were alive the whole time. The animation is a bit crappy sure, but Hands of time made Wu an amazing character, the moment Krux and Acronix went back in time to alter a battle and it was all up to Kai to save Ninjago had my heart beating with tension. When the dragon disappeared and I thought that he had failed, I dropped down to my knees... I thought he didn't succeed until Nya came in clutch with that reversal blade. Wu's sacrifice was also brave

Solid ranking absolutely valid

Couldn’t agree more with season 11. It’s probably the only season I enjoyed more then Tournament Of Elements, Akita is an excellent character and the artistic choices and aesthetics are beautiful.

The Ice Chapter is good, but the Fire Chapter is really boring and badly written imo.

The Tournament of Elements established many elemental masters and the lore of the Serpentine War! And shows how powerful the Anacondrais were in the war from then. While S11, there were several filler that are really pointless to the plot. The Fire chapter was so bad for my liking. Unpopular opinion, but the Ice chapter was no exception, but okay in some parts. And the animation was so noticeably unfinished in my eyes

Yeah Season 11 was ok but not great

Not even gonna lie, Master of the Mountain is my favorite season. I love that one so much

Unpopular opinion: I think Art of the silent fist is an honorable mention of a top 10 episode of masters of spinjitzu despite me myself not liking rebooted at all. Not only did it do a good job with the Zane and Pixal dynamic, but when you compare between Season 2 Garmadon and season 3 Garmadon, Garmadon went from relying on megaweapon(which made me him dumb for the most part of season 2) and being completely manipulated by the overlord after being stupid enough to trust him to becoming an actual Sensei who defeated USM without him using his powers and teaching a technique that ultimately ended up the reason why the Ninja won against the nindroids in the same ep. It maybe the seed of the love triangle but it's just a seed planted that didn't make any issues until the next episode. Like Rebooted or not, this one is a good episode and I'll die on this hill and it was one of the best parts of rebooted. And then the episode after this is one of my least favorite episodes in all of ninjago.

I think the ice chapter is really solid but fire chapters just brings it down from c to d

Cool ranking!! Sons of Garmadon is my fav too! I don’t think crystallized is the worst season ever however I do think it was massively disappointing. I actually think rebooted is the worst season for a variety of reasons. One being the obvious: the love triangle but I also hate how the overarching plot ties into the episode Wrong Place Wrong Time from season 2 because that episode is incredibly illogical when you think about it. EDIT: I’ve changed my mind. Rebooted is a good season and Crystallized IS the worst season

My Fav Seasons: TOE Possession SOG HOT MOTO Hunted (All the Seasons are good tho)

Tournament is S legit lead yo basically everything in later seasons and is constantly hinted at and is by far the most thrilling season

If MotM isn't above seabound we're gonna have issues

I don't hate season 8 but I do think it's a little overrated because it feels like the only reason they brought Garmadon back just to tie into the movie

Putting day of the departed and skybound at the same tier is just disrespectful.

I love the Scott the Woz reference with the “time until crusty complains”

In my opinion Ninjago crystalized was great up to episode coming of the king

If u would all be honest youd say tournament of elements. It had a good storytelling, worldbuilding, history, plots but most importantly the pacing was just PERFECT

i really dont know if 2/10 episodes is enough to justify a season's quality - although you're missing the finale! that one is also great.

Season 2 and 3 my favorite, because golden ninja era quite good and Zane’s sacrifice, much better than Nya’s sacrifice.

Not the ninja in s2 being able to fly even when they dont know about airjutziu

The opening scene of wasted true potential is so incredible, hands down

episode 17 is the exact moment where things went downhill but in hindsight all of it was pretty wack

Imo, every installment goes in A except for Crystalized. That goes in S for me

I like all the seasons

I cant wait to get bombarded with hate for this but i kinda like crystalized. Okay, let me explain So some of the things didn’t make sense like why they would make the overlord’s looks how they are and the rest of the army etc, but still. Personally i do like it because it just feels good to watch. It does have some good and bad writing moments. The vengestone buyer should of been different thats for sure but it did somewhat of a good job. The battles are well played and look visually approving and it overall for me is pretty nice. I mean it could be better but i still enjoyed it alot Also you dont need to over-think it

Basic pic, but Sons of Garmadon is my favorite for sure. All six of the ninja just feel so in character, and they all get something to do at some point in the season. Obviously Lloyd acts as the main character, but Zane's Snake Jaguar story is cool, Cole with the baby is amazing, this season makes me like Nya a lot more than most of the other seasons do, and Jay and Kai, while they aren't focused on as much, still get some good characterization. I love the dynamics in this season, it's just so fun to watch. The ninja bounce off of each other perfectly, and I don't think any other Ninjago season has topped SoG in terms of dialogue. Harumi is a dope villain with a brilliant connection to Garmadon and the Great Deavourer, and bringing back Garmadon worked surprisingly well. I love a good story that ends on a cliffhanger, and the ending of SoG is amazing, so cool to watch when it first came out. Although I love Hunted and Master of the Mountain almost as much and Tournament of Elements has a special place in my heart, SoG will always be the best one. I wish the rest of the show was this good.

I can understand why some people don't enjoy S2, but personally it's one of my faves (other than the filler episodes).

Nothing can top the oni trilogy for me

My rankings jump around quite a lot. I'm lucky in that I like every season to some extent (except maybe HOT and DOTD) S Tier: Hunted, Skybound, Seabound, Prime Empire, Master of the Mountain A Tier: Sons of Garmadon, Rise of the Snakes, Tournament of Elements, Crystallized, Possession B Tier: Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu, March of the Oni, the Pilots C Tier: Legacy of the Green Ninja, Rebooted, The Island, Hands of Time (this one is *almost* in D tier) D Tier: Day of the Departed

Fun fact: if zane found a way to defeat the overlord without sacroficing himself season 4 would have never existed and then sensei garmadon would stay and morro wouldnt escape the cursed realm so no possesion and since it was ghost clause who unleashed nadakhan season 6 wouldnt have happened i dont think sons of garmadon and hunted would happen and im not sure how march of the oni happened so zanes sacrofice in rebooted has affected ninjago greatly

Im glad I found someone else who likes season 11.

Hot take: season 11 is an amazing season, the only problem are episodes 3,4 and 19 because they are useless and the Akita backstory could've been a normal lego backstory like with Morro and Harumi's backstory animation. The villains are amazing, the ice Emperor could've had more screentime but is still good, Aspheera and Vex are amazing underrated villains

Ok I personally don’t think that Crystilized is as bad as most people are saying it is. Yes it obviously had some issues. But I was able to look past them and even with those problems in mind. I had a great time I know the ending felt a bit rushed and could have been a bit more stretched out. But non the less what we had, I enjoyed

Pilot only had 3 episodes but it was nostalgic

Crystallized is where many old allies team up against the villains and there was also a wild prison break

S: Skybound, Possession, Rise of the Snakes B: Hands of Time, Master of the Mountain, Seabound C: Dragons Rising, Season 11, Tournament of Elements, Rebooted, Season 2 (Got lazy so didn’t finish)

My opinion on every season: Pilots - Haven't watched. S1 - Very good, still holds up. Good character moments. One of the better season 1's - 8/10 S2 - Criminally underrated. The first half is better though - 7/10 S3 - There's a few gems, but it's just OK. The love triangle even was egrigious as a kid. - 5/10 S4 - Pretty good, although very overrated. The final episodes are much better and less stale. (not saying the season's stale) - 6/10 S5 - It takes a few episodes to get good, but when it does... It's just so diverse. - 9/10 (does a lot of worldbuilding and got me really hooked) S6 - Perfect. Still holds up extremely well. - 20/10 (random piece of trivia, i got a wierd book about some stuff with this one, but i lost it a few years ago) DotD - Haven't watched, but seems OK. S7 - Bland and repetitive, one of the few bad seasons. Not utter shit, but very close. - 2/10 Currently on my rewatch, haven't watched the rest yet, so can't really give an honest opinion yet. If I feel like it, I'll update the comment.

Personally I think Crystalized is quite good, I adore the fact it was revealed the Overlord is the reason the Great Devourer bit Garmadon, thus making sense as to why the Overlord was expecting Garmadon to find him, also that having changed my view of the devourer and the Overlord, I also liked the crystals, I think they were a big and unique change that I really enjoyed, Garmadon's character in the season, for me is very enjoyable, but I would have liked to see Oni Lloyd and I didn't like the fact that they made it seem like the Oni were evil, and thus completely neglect Mystake's character or anything we learnt, as well as what Skyler told Lloyd that just because your father was evil doesn't mean you too become like them. Besides that I would say it was really nice as I liked the crystals and the Overlord's new look in his form whilst also managing to reveal how the overlord knew Garmadon was going to find him.

my favorite will always be that first season.

i love the reference to scott the woz with the timer to complain like how scott complained about mario kart 8’s battle mode.

lmao, i forgot that Ronan strait up assaults Nya, how did the animators let that slide??

Season 2 is so underrated how in the world is day of the departed above it and have sky bound in c tier is wild it’s b+ and island in B tier is also wild actually is criminal

You know, I kinda figured out the main problem with Crystalized. They want to tell a dark and serious story but also want to keep it kid friendly and light hearted. And now I can't rewatch the show without knowing this is what it leads to. At least something like Power Rangers changes up its status quo in some ways.

Personally my fav are (not in order) Possession, TOE, Hands of time (u might disagree with this one and if so that’s ok), Sons of Garmadon, Hunted, The season where Aspheera is introduced and where they go to the never realm (idk the name), The prime empire one (again idk the name, Master of the mountain. Please note: this is just my opinion so no hate pls 😅 and if you guys know the names of the seasons I don’t know, feel free to let me know!!

What I find weird is that in March of the oni everyone forgets that garmadon killed mystake they don't even care

Me personally season 2 legacy of the green ninja is THE GOAT most climatic season really building up the power of the golden ninja and gave us a HUGE amount of backstories this season made overlord look like he is HIM

The whole oni trilogy is my favorite, with season 8 being the best, season 9 being almost just as good and season 10 with a few flaws but still great!

I genuinely feel like this list it pretty solid, everything is pretty much good and well thought out, i just fell like season 4 and 5 should be higher, maybe it’s nostalgia talking but I just really love those seasons. Overall nice teir list

I personally liked Ninjago crystallized. However, the two problems I have with it are the fact that it completely undid Nya’s sacrifice from Seabound, and the fact that the finale was underwhelming specifically, the fact that Lloyd just shot creation powers at the overlord and I’m like “that’s it?” “You couldn’t have more of a final battle from season two?” I mean seriously call me crazy, but in terms of final battles, season two was perfect in my opinion, and it felt like it was earned.

the thing i like about skybound is how up to that point, nadakan was the most brutal and dark villain the ninja faced with the fact if jay stuck with his original plan of making nadakan not a djinn would basically kill the other ninja, on top of how brutal he was with jay as his prisoner

My only complaint is prime empire should be b teir
