Today, I will try to teach you about the Automation Pyramid. More specifically, the devices used to make up the automation pyramid.
So what exactly is the automation pyramid? It is a pictorial example of the different levels of automation in a factory or industry.
It also serves as a visual example of how technology is being integrated into industry. So let’s take a closer look and try to break the pyramid down.

    The most important topic is automatically collect data and teach employee how to work effeciently. In last years we found out missing competencies so it is very useful to improve employees skills into the level which will be finally integrated and maintained by them.

    I love your videos. Great Job. Do you know what are the "telegrams" in the MES System? The MES Terminals are sending the "telegrams" to the Server? What is a telegram?

  • @realpars

    @realpars

    5 жыл бұрын

    Hi there, thanks for your compliment and happy to hear that. The software systems that run at the level 3 are called Manufacturing Execution Systems or MES. This software communicates with all Level 2 systems at all times through bi-directional telegrams. The term "bidirectional telegram" here means communicating through sending and receiving messages. The type of communication depends on the design of the network structure. We can say level 4 communicates with Level 3 through bi-directional telegrams as well.

    According to the pyramid...Where can I put an DCS (distribuited control system), at the same level of SCADA in the pyramid? What's the main difference between DCS and SCADA?

  • @michaaopek4654

    @michaaopek4654

    5 жыл бұрын

    I would recommand to view at the website ResearchGate, there is a comparision between this both... To keep it short, SCADA is event driven and data oriented. Its used to monitor and control a whole process. DCS is more a local control. Its process oriented and state driven. Its controls a concrete process part. So I would say, DCS is more in Layer 2 - Control Level in use and not at the same level as a SCADA. www.researchgate.net/post/What_are_the_two_major_differences_between_DCS_and_SCADA_systems

    Power BI is a tool that certainly can be used for planning. as well as o0ther data-centric analyses. You will also need to collect the data that is analyzed by Power BI to have a complete Planning level application.
