This explanation is totally incorrect thambi. Don't simply accept anything that comes in KZread. திருவள்ளுவர் என்ன சொல்லி இருக்காரு? எப்பொருள் யார்யார்வாய்க் கேட்பினும் அப்பொருள் மெய்ப்பொருள் காண்ப தறிவு Network (Internet) speed is always calculated in Bits per second, it is the universal standard, no one is misleading by mentioning in Bits per second. Only storage capacity is calculated in Bytes. Using Bytes for internet speed is incorrect. @ 9:55 what is shown is speed at which the data is written to a storage (39.5 MB/s), that is 39.5 Mega Bytes of data is written to the storage per second. That is not the Internet or Network speed. If you understand this concept, the entire topic of this video is incorrect.

Brother, The specification is correct. Computer science convention is b is bits and B is bytes.. Unfortunately, even computer science engineers and IT people sometimes don't know this.

Internet speed has always been denoted in bps. In the days of dialup in the late 90s we had 56kbps internet. This is standard industry practice across the globe. If you want to know the biggest uruttu in Mega or giga bytes its in data storage. We know 1 mega byte is 1024 kilo bytes while 1 giga byte it is 1024 mega bytes. However, when it comes to storage devices like hard disk or RAM, they treat 1000 kilo bytes as 1 Kega byte and 1000 Mega byte as 1 giga byte. At smaller levels it may not matter, but at higher levels it adds up to significant loss to customer.
