What is SCORM?
If you have any involvement whatsoever with online learning, you're going to need to wrap your head around SCORM.
The rise to prominence of online learning in the 90s was a glorious thing, but it was not without its teething issues. One of the main issues was a lack of agreed structure and standards for eLearning content. This led to compatibility issues and a lack of consistency throughout the industry.
In essence, this meant that every piece of content had to be tailored for a specific delivery system. This would obviously be a costly process! It also meant that if a company wanted to switch to a new LMS, all of their content would suddenly become obsolete.

While a veteran solutions software engineer, architect & API integration manager, I knew not about SCORM. My role is critical to my company - your contribution/this video was absolutely wonderful, everything about it: the background, lighting, and of course the most important part: you! I sincerely appreciate you putting this together as it has enlightened me in the critical facets needed regarding SCORM, and I now have a page of objective, well-organized notes that will no doubt help me in my immediate future. I may utilize this video as part of a training curriculum in the near future :) Thank you again!!
As a newcomer to the technical side of L&D, thank you so much! I can now talk intelligently about SCORM issues.
I loved your way to make clear what SCORM is!!!, thank you for sharing!!
Wow, I really loved how this explanation was delivered.
Fantastic delivery and presentation. Very clear. Thank you
Great explanation. Simplified and made easy. Thanks keep it up !
Wonderful explanation! Thank you!
Great explanation, thank you so much!
Super and simple . Big thanks to you
This was really informative and detailed explanation of SCORM, Thank you
Very clear explanation. Thank you
Really useful overview. Looking at ways to improve engagement with polytechnic engineering students in their "less fun" subjects such as maths and some very good points in here 🙂
Really good content that was really well delivered. Keep up the good work,
Can you plz give more about the core difference 1.2 and 2005
thank you for your explanations. I am interested in scorm. is it only can be used in engineering subjects or can be used in social subjects?
excellent video. can we have a list of newer versions better than scorn that you mentioned
do you have a video for Tin Can / xAPI?
Great video. I have put SCORM, XAPI (tin can), and CMI5 into Google-trends and it suggests that SCORM is search 10Xs as much as the alternatives. I then started asking LMS technicians who work directly with the LMS companies what percentage of their clients use SCORM alternatives and they all tend to say almost no one uses XAPI and CMI5. Maybe people are just intimidated by these modern alternatives as they do require more skill to use but regardless I question the stat about only 60% of courses utilizing SCORM. Either way, great over video!
Thank you
Thank youuu
Help! SCORM Alert keeps popping up incessantly! Is this to keep me awake? May I fix this in settings? It is obnoxious and stalls my progress literally clicking to remove it hundreds of times!
is microsoft A3 education or google classrom a scorm compliance?
I loved the intro - the accent I mean. ;-)
Hey there, my question is how do we fix the issues-which frequently occurs at course launch. We get so many cases where only clear cache fixes the course, launch or moving forward issues are closed.
We are at 6:43 and you have still told us nothing about SCORM~!
Why do people say inside instead of in. It sounds so stupid~!
