It simply connects your web servers to your databases. Nothing more.

Thumb down for mentioning perl as being quasi deprecated as a language for applications.

I don't want to be 'that guy', but you mis-spelled 'fundamental'.

Thank you!! Was driving me nuts. You're not "that guy," simply through self-awareness. If you were "that guy," you would have made a snarky comment about the mis-spell. Well played.
