PTE Core
The newest test introduced by Pearson is PTE Core, which is a general English test approved by IRCC for migration, work and citizenship to Canada. This fully computerised test should be taken in a test center, just like all other tests given by Pearson.
How long is PTE Core?
The PTE Core, a computer-based general English test, is 2 hours long and the entire test can be completed in a single sitting. The test evaluates a candidate's ;language proficiency in all four modules: Speaking & Writing, Listening and Reading.
What is the format of PTE Core?
PTE Core is taken in 3 parts. Part 1 includes the Speaking & Writing tasks, while Part 2 tests you on your Reading skills. Part 3 includes tasks to evaluate your Listening ability. The first part takes approximately 50 minutes to be completed whereas both Part 2 and Part 3 take roughly 30 minutes each.
How long will it take for you to get your PTE Core results?
PTE Core results will be published in typically 2 days, but the results may also be published as early as 24 hours.
Is PTE accepted in Canada for PR?
The PTE Core, the newly introduced general English test by Pearson, is now accepted by IRCC, for all immigration pathways which includes Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Express Entry, and Canadian Citizenship.
Is PTE Core accepted for Australia?
PTE Core is now accepted by IRCC for migration, work visas and citizenship. PTE is accepted by Australian, UK and New Zealand governments for visa purposes.
How is PTE Core scored?
The PTE Core is scored using a combination of AI and human expertise.
The PTE Core booking are open and available from February 12th, 2024 test dates onwards.
