Tbh, Blue Lotus event reminds me about Magic the Gathering lotuses. Mainly because resource gain and totally not because of the name.

It's amazing to imagine a species so caught up on 0.013% of their atmosphere that they never made it into space due to their energy limitations.

your vids make me want to play the game again. but the constant nerfs of new content months after it comes out and the constant changing of everything in game is to much. the devs care to much for the small multiplayer crowds opinion over the rest of the playerbase.

Why must we endure climate scam propaganda, even in video game lore? Getting plenty of it in real life, already.... 😆

What's the scam? Sit in a car with the windows up and smoke, tell me the air quality doesn't change, now size up the same experiment what's different?

@@TheRedKing Don't get me wrong, the air 'quality' would change. But it wouldn't cause the temperature inside the car to change. Also, if you happened to have a plant growing in the car, the extra CO2 would actually be good for it. Really like your videos btw 👍

Just remember to separate "Global Warming" from "Climate Change", one is a real phenomena affecting the planet slowly and naturally, the other is political.

@@banjojohn1489 I mean there would be a small increase in temperature if there was more co2 in the car when exposed to sunlight. Quite neighable compared to other effects sure, and your car is not going to be in sunlight 24/7 so at these scales you can ignore it. But when scaling up to say the size of the earth, these small effects add up, still relatively small but notable and much easier to measure with relatively simple equipment. And Venus is an example of one possible extreme of such an effect. Plus, unlike your car, half the earth is always under the sun. Of course Earth probably won’t get that extreme unless there is deliberate effort towards that end but nevertheless there will be a more notable change temperature, which will say, change wind and ocean currents which carry heat away and to certain places. Some places are rather isolated so they won’t be affected, some will become colder as the currents become stronger and carry more heat away. Some will become hotter as heat brought to the area. And the reverse is also true as the currents become weaker. They stop carrying heat away so the area becomes hotter. Some stop recieving heat from the weakening currents so they become colder. And of course you can just willy nilly change the currents however you like with heat because the currents are not isolated from each other they exist within the same space (earth) and effect each other. Strengthens or weakening one current can have more effects on than just that current as it stops pushing against or pushing more against other currents which push against other currents and so on. So for most places, until a new stable configuration is reached, will have relative unstable or erratic weather. Like sudden snowstorms or heatwaves in areas that does not usually receive such type of weather. Sudden droughts or floods etc… These erratic changes in weather is not good for the plants that grow there because they are adapted for that specific climate which is not becoming increasingly unstable.

Of course, carbon dioxide is not the only gas that has this greenhouse effect, and in fact there are actually many other gases that have an even stronger effect than carbon dioxide. One of which is water vapor. Of course air can only contain so much water vapor, but making it warmer will allow the air to hold more water vapor, which warms the atmosphere more which allows more water vapor to be in the air. There is also gases like methane trapped in say ice, which a warm climate either caused by weakened or strengthened currents like I have talked about above, can cause to melt and release causing more warming. Ice decreases warming by reflecting light before they can be absorbed and converted into heat. As climate in an area warms. Ice will melt, exposing darker ground underneath that less prone to reflecting the line, thus more light is absorbed and turned into heat, contributing to a warming effect as well. Of course if all these are applied to say something the scale of a car, you probably will not feel anything unless you put car in a very controlled environment with sensitive measure ready to measure any small differences that remains consistent through repeated attempts. However the earth is large, and one side is always facing the sun. What might be a fraction of a fraction of a difference inside your car can be the differences of one or two degrees you can measure on a normal thermometer. Though, yes depending on the area, it could be much more or much less, there can even be a decrease in temperature too, but remember the temperature of an geographic doesn’t just depend on the average temperature of the atmosphere, but the currents of air and water that is carrying away or bring heat to the area. Which the average temperature of the atmosphere affects greatly. And also to state the obvious, yes there is a limit to how strong these effects as I stated can get. But there is an effect. It just means there are diminishing returns to their effectiveness. Though small, it does have consequences. Like how mass producing say a tent in a way that saves you a 5 cents per unit gets you the saving of 50 thousand dollars if you make and sold like a million of them. Which is 50 thousand you can spend on other ventures or investment.
