Because, nobody will offer you to lead a project before you prove yourself as a developer or a tester or whatever responsibilities in a team for a typical project. Would you please clarify? Hi Tushar, The PMP certification is the gold standard for project management roles, so the expectation for you to have prior experience in leading projects is to ascertain your commitment to the role. Projects don’t necessarily mean complex ones spanning across several months. Every large or complex project may encompass several smaller projects, which, even as a fresh graduate you can lead - i.e. take full responsibility for and see though to completion. Hi Knowledge Hut Team, I have a BBA Degree plus MBA Degree which makes 5 years of degree and 4.8 years of experience in projects. Am i Eligible for PMP ? Hello, Thanks for your question. Typically, the project management certification from the PMI has very stringent qualification criteria. The idea behind that is not to discourage people from taking it up, but to ascertain that you are clear on wanting to take up project management as an experienced, mature, and committed professional. While Google’s foray into professional certifications is commendable and perhaps a good starting point for freshers, bear in mind that it will not substitute the practical experience in project management that you may require if you wish to go for the PMP certification eventually.

No, as it requires quite a few years of experience managing projects, so you' re probably closer to yours 30's than your 20's if you are elegible.

Hi Akash, The eligibility criteria for PMP are rather specific and cover education as well as work experience. As a mechanical design engineer, you would certainly be eligible to pursue a PMP certification, you will only need to check if you also meet the professional experience needed, which is either 4500 hours of leading and directing projects with your graduate degree, or 7500 hours of leading and directing projects if you have a secondary degree. Hey Ali, it may seem that people without experience are going for PMP certifications, but it is a misconception. The PMP certification process is a rigorous one and to even be eligible for the exam, candidates are required to show proven experience, along with their qualifications. Typically, you need a 4-year degree and about 3 years (36 months) of experience leading projects, or a high school diploma and about 5 years (60 months) of experience leading projects. Additionally, you also need to undergo PMP training, or have a CAPM certification. Yes,any one can eligible for pmp... You just have 36 months of experience if you are from BE... OR else 60 months of project work experience
