What is Nyepi in Bali? As foreigners in Bali we experienced Nyepi for the first time, and what an experience it was!
Nyepi is the biggest ceremony in Bali, which spans a few days and includes different rituals. We experienced the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade and the day of silence. Rather than stay in one of the main area in Bali we decided to experience Nyepi in a more rural town, so we went to Sebatu in Tagallalang and were invited to spend Nyepi with a local family.
It was such a special experience for us to experience Nyepi in Bali like this. It meant a lot, and we would definitely recommend getting out of the main cities for next Nyepi if you are visiting Bali.
