What is Nanotechnology Engineering?

Every once in a while, there seems to be a hot, new type of engineering that has a lot of hype. For now, it seems to be Nanotech. Maybe it has to do with how cool Nanotechnology looks in the Avengers movies. Let’s look at a quick overview of what it is, the types of courses you’re expected to take if you choose to study nanotech engineering, and the types of jobs you’re expected to get after you graduate. Timestamps are as follows:

I think understanding at least some of nanotechnology is extremely important. I conducted research with nanoHUB to understand approaches to help students learn nano concepts. I think understanding models, simulations, and nano size & scale is important for all engineers. It can help them at least open the door for a future career in nanotechnology engineering. Very cool video!

Super helpful video!! I had a question though... my college has a undergrad program in only mechanical engineering with various concentrations. Instead of being in that, I am majoring in Chemical physics, where more focus is put on understanding the chemistry and physics behind particles rather than building materials. Do you recommend that I switch to ME or pursue Masters in nanotech. And if I do that, is it possible for me to transition to ME if I choose to later in my career?
