I don’t understand why as a non-media, non-entertainment professional woman I can’t write off a stylist, hair, makeup, waxing, dry cleaning and disposable supplies and carry on minis even though all of these things are extremely harshly judged for women and really influence success. They also take a chunk out of your income for the average young professional. Whereas these stars make millions AND have tax advantages to write off a lot of this… I am now required to be on camera for video conference calls hours a day without any of these advantages. The last time I went to get my hair done in Beverly Hills for my corporate headshot it was $725 for cut color blowout and style and that is excluding tip, assistants tip, valet, gas for the car, my mileage on my car, a coffee on the way. It was like a $1,000 day. Then I spent $185 on dry cleaning after a work trip. And another $50 in tailoring and $50 in brows at Anastasia/Nordstrom’s before the trip. $200 in mini cosmetics and toiletries… $30 in lame trouser hosiery for my ankles… And I just have to eat it as a woman under the current tax code. It makes no sense…

I’d love to see a morning and evening routine where you show how you take care of yourself all before 9am. I am in the same situation right now. Trying to figure out better self-care so I can be more productive and meet my responsibilities on a daily, regular basis. Also, do you take weekends off or one day a week not working? It’s hard as an entrepreneur, and when work events happen over the weekend too.
