Mechanical Engineering is one of the broadest disciplines in existence. The majority of websites and KZread videos out there fail to explain what Mechanical Engineering is exactly, so in this video I'll help you understand the most important elements of Mechanical Engineering. This will help you decide if mechanical engineering is a good fit for you and the types of work you can do as a mechanical engineer.

Very good presentation of a Mechanical Engineering major; however, you forgot to talk about industrial maintenance, which covers a significant field within mechanical engineering. Maintenance engineers are responsible for developing and implementing maintenance plans. They utilize their mechanical knowledge, experience with specific machines, data collection, and data analysis to craft maintenance plans with actionable items. The average maintenance cost percentage in the industry ranges from 15% to 70% of production costs. However, specific studies have estimated the average maintenance cost to be around 28% of total production costs.

Great video but I will like to point out the fact that there are actually three major areas of simulation. The third one besides FEA and CFD is MBD (multibody dynamics) , the most popular being MSC ADAMS but which is often left out by most vlogers when talking about simulation. It focusses on the system level performance of a product and is heavily applicable in the automotive, aerospace and machinery industries but also in any mechanism or system with moving parts

Nothing wrong with Inventor. That’s what I used to learn CAD at my internship. However, big companies rarely use it, so keep that in mind.
